Hi,
Is there a roadmap for the stable version of Domoticz? It seems to be kind of long sprints for the stable versions. Lots of new features and bug fixes that one would like. But they never seem to be stable enough for a stable build.

Same question as: http://domoticz.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=6647 , but i will leave this topic open. The other topic went offtopic when the discussion about radiator thermostats started

I am not active on this forum anymore.

Re: Roadmap stable version
Wouldn't it be a good to get out more stable versions?
Maybe work in more branches trying to get selected new features out bug free to a stable branch, releasing them more often as stable and have a more wild West development branch with new features.
Or maybe have roadmap sprints where a given date should be stable with a selected number of new features and have periods without new features just bug fixes to be able to get out a new stable release.

Re: Roadmap stable version
There probably is a rough roadmap, but it doesn't include a strict timing schedule because this software is developed by people in their spare time.
it is not software for which you can really plan vary narrow release dates as there is no fixed allocated workload.

Yep and some developers have a genuine interest in some things and not in others, plus we don't have all the hardware to be able to integrate...bbqkees wrote:There probably is a rough roadmap, but it doesn't include a strict timing schedule because this software is developed by people in their spare time.

The other point of branching and stable releases is it increases our work load and we would rather just be coding.
Sorry to disappoint! If it was a paid job it may change things!
