thank you for answer, but I'm not using WIFI/LAN version of OTGW.
my OTGW is connected to raspberry USB port.
i tried to install ser2lan and configure it by adding this line to ser2net.conf:

Code: Select all

1001:raw:0:/dev/ttyUSB0:9600 8DATABITS NONE 1STOPBIT banner
and then sucesfuly connected to OTGW with otmonitor.exe

the problem is that i'm not receiving the same info as otgw is connected to my computer usb.

Code: Select all

I have OTGW USB version connected to raspberry pi running domoticz and everything works very well.
from time to time I would like to connect to OTGW using otmonitor.exe in windows, but I don't know what to do on raspi side to enable this activity.
can somebody post step-by-step instructions how to set-up ser2lan on raspi running domoticz to have domoticz and otmonitor running in parallel?
many thanks in advance.
kind regards,
vaanja
I think this is not possible out of the box as what happens here if i try this my OTGW freaks out untill I receive no more data at all.
Powercycle the OTGW will bring it back to life. TPLink with Ser2Net I know. Ser2Lan... I don't.

So I tried experimenting with serial port 'splitter' software. http://www.conserver.com/INSTALL
A lot of work and no luck.

What could be done, is 'relay' received OTGW information by Domoticz.

In this way: Domoticz would contact OTGW via Lan, and relay received information to a different port.
So otmonitor.exe would be able to contact Domoticz on that port and receive the information. Can be very usefull for debugging purposes.
However I don't know if somebody will build this functionality,

can you check ttyUSB* is succesfully created when plugging in the USB cable into raspberry
check with 'dmesg'.

the log is from otmonitor.exe running on windows machine, but connected to raspberry ip, port 1001, which I set up in ser2net config.
i thought that if domoticz is running on raspberry and reading info from otgw via usb sucesfully, I can forward same information to port 1001 and read via otmonitor from windows machine...
if i connect OTGW directly to windows machine usb port, than i see changing log line every second, but when accessing otgw connected to raspi usb, it's receiving info once per cca 30s.

Hello,

I'm using the OTGW with Domoticz, is it possible with Domoticz to send a constant temperature to the thermostat?

Greetings,

Hi,
Is there any way to use the latest version (beta) on windows? I can download the svn version but have no idea how to generate an installler.
Don't know if in the latest version the flame state, dhw state etc. are also listed in switches, while setpoint and water pressure are listedd under utililties. (I would expect them all to be listed under utilities)
Another problem is, on the roomplan the room setpoint is listed, but when tapping / clicking on it it shows the graph, not an option to change the setpoint.

Overall, i'm very happy with the total solution you offer! Thanks lot for your work!

How are you dealing with OTGW and the regular room thermostat?

In my current situation, both the roomt thermostat and OTGW have their own schedule.. wich may sometimes conflict.. But who wins in a conflicting situation? For example. the room thermostat sets the room temperature to 20 degrees, but OTWG sets it to 15.. what will happen now?

I have seen my room thermostat displaying a message that some other program has set the current room temperature. The display shows "External Wish", wich would probably be caused by OTGW...

For Completeness: I have an ATAG E325EC and ATAG Wize...

logging is only internally unless you specified that domoticz should log to a file.
If you enabled the log file option, you want to log something (as a developer maybe?) so yes you get log lines
As you get updates to sensors, domoticz makes a log, and yes OTGW updates the sensors....

Thanks for the status id's
It would be nice if there was an option to hide those messages / updates from the normal settings -> log screen.
They come by very frequent, and are not interresting. As long as my sensors keep updated, its fine by me.
Disabling openthem log messages would give me a better overview (overzichtelijker) Its 10 log lines every 30 seconds..

Does somebody know how to set up the right persistentUSB line?

Code: Select all

SUBSYSTEM=="tty", ATTRS{idVendor}=="0424", ATTRS{idProduct}=="9512", SYMLINK+="ttyUSB22"
Doesn't seem to work because the OTGW doesn't work anymore then. It seems that it only works on USB0.

jvandenbroek can i contact you by email because i can't send pm's yet on this forum, I am too rookie yet :p
(or anyone with a Remeha Calenta with iSense)
I also have a Remeha Calenta with an iSense thermostat and I would like to know how well your installation went before i pay 89 eur for the OTGW.
I think I've red this thread 3 times allready but you can't be prepared enough :)

Currently i have a raspberry pi standing by with domoticz, have a Calenta boiler, an iSense thermostat. I am thinking to buy the OTGW, connect it with a USB cable to my Rpi and controlling my temperature through the domoticz website anywhere on earth :) Or ceate my own little website to change my iSense temperature

Thanks in advance people !

Ps : Anyone has an idea why my calenta keeps burning even thou ive set a temperature of 15 °c untill 18:00 PM, when at the time of the picture (picture is below) it is 17.5°C at 16:23 PM?

It shouldnt be burning before 18:00 PM , any suggestions please? Because if I have problems before the OTGW I will get much more trouble when implementing the OTGW.

Thanks in advance :)

I have a Calenta with an iSense Thermostat. I bought the DIY version of the OTGW and soldered it together myself. After loading it with the right firmware as indicated on the website, and adjusting a certain voltage level (cant remember which one), it works fine and it has been working flawlessly since +6 months.
It makes it possible to show the outside temperature on the iSense thermostat without having a outside temperature sensor attached to the Calenta. Domoticz retrieves the outside temperature from a sensor of your own, or from weatherunderground, and domoticz sends that value to your iSense, to show it in the upper right corner. Very handy! (look in the iSense manual to enable 'external commands ')

Also big fun to monitor the temperature levels in domoticz, and you will probably see why the Calenta starts warming 2 hours in advance.

By the way, warming up 120 minutes in advance is probably more energy efficient than 60 minutes. The self adjusting iSense takes care of that.

oke perfect ! my main purpose is to edit the temperature (setpoint) inside remotely.
I don't have any tools to solder the OTGW together meself so im going to buy the pre-soldered one. External acces is already enalbed, and i will google the voltage level. Thanks for your input.

I have looked it up for you http://otgw.tclcode.com/firmware.html#additional ( 'Serial Commands', these can be entered via the OTMonitor program, i had to enter the VR= command to set the reference voltage before data started flowing. If i remember correctly i entered VR=8, but i suggest starting at VR=3 and work your way up one step at a time until data becomes visible in OTMonitor.
Also AA=28 is needed to show return temperature to the Calenta.

great advice ! Think im going to order the OTGW tomorrow. Ready for the challenge  (im just a software programmer ... never did something like this on hardware/voltage/etc level)

edit: also imgonna order the youLess meter to monitor my electricity and another youless meter to monitor my gas-usage, pumping it all in domoticz. Hope it works after spending 230 eur on (2 youless + 1 OTGW)

@Deshke: Could you please share your code when you have completed this? I also want to set the Room Setpoint remotely, by an PHP script (running at the Pi which connects with the USB interface). Unfortunatly, I cannot find how to adjust this setting by the Domoticz JSON API. The type 'Thermostat' is not described in the Wiki and therefore I'm not 100% sure that Domoticz has this feature.
