Even better, also point it to our wiki explaining how to connect to the MCP while you are doing it

Code: Select all

"I have no clue how to connect Claude Desktop to the Domoticz MCP service, the documentation is at https://wiki.domoticz.com/MCP_model_context_protocol_LLM , please explain how to do it"
You can also ask it to ChatGPT

I did not find mcp-proxy installation instructions in the Wiki.
But the best way to connect Claude Desktop is definitely to ask Claude itself !
It is what I did and it works perfectly.
I am at the state to ask me what do to with that, I asked Claude again and it has very good ideas

OK, here are instructions for installation of Claude Desktop and mcp-proxy on Windows:
1-Download Claude Desktop at claude.ai/download
2-Install Python Packets manager in Powershell:

Code: Select all

powershell -ExecutionPolicy ByPass -c "irm https://astral.sh/uv/install.ps1 | iex"
3-Install mcp-proxy in Powershell:

Code: Select all

uv tool install mcp-proxy
4-In Powershell, use

Code: Select all

where.exe mcp-proxy
to get the path of the mcp-proxy.exe
5-Open

Code: Select all

%APPDATA%\Claude
folder (in my case I had to make a manual search to find the configuration file)
6-Edit

Code: Select all

claude_desktop_config.json
configuration file and continue with Wiki instructions

Without much programming knowledge (just very basic familiarity), I spent the last few weeks using Cursor (starting initially with Copilot) to build a plugin that reads data from my Easee charging stations and Equalizer. It can import dynamic energy prices—such as those from Tibber—and also allows prices to be entered manually or retrieved from ENTSO-E or EnergyZero.
