Device values in notification

Post by JeanBonnot »

Hi all,
When using the "Notification" feature of a temperature sensor, how do I include the device's temperature value in the message?

This doesn't work : "Temp : {{temperaturedevice[34287]}} "

Thanx

There is no way to program this from the default Edit Notifications dialog.
You cannot set a custom notification message with parameters. It can be done with for example dzvents scripting.

But the standard message contains already the temperature!
For example: If you set send notification when temperature is above 30 you will get the following notification message when temp is 32:
<Your tempdevicename> is 32.0 degrees > 30.0 degrees

You could use: Temp: $value

Thanks I did not know this and added it to the wiki.
You can use paramerers $name and $value to create your own custom message.
