New Version 2026_1 Problems with Thermostat
I use Domoticz on a Windows 11 computer with JS-UI and Z-Wave devices. I updated from version 2025_2 to the new version 2026_1. Since then, my 10 Eurotronics Spirit Z-Wave+ thermostats have stopped working. So I’ve reverted back to version 2025_2 for now, as I need correct working thermostats. Are there any known issues with these thermostats, and will this be fixed in an update?

Re: New Version 2026_1 Problems with Thermostat
There is a new Thermostat6 type of device introduced in 2026.1. It is a combined thermostat/temperature device and it is shown not in the utility tab but on the Temperature tab.
So perhaps your current domoticz thermostat devices are recreated to the new thermostat6 devices?
Else you have to report a github issue on the integration on Zwave-JS-UI with the instructions on wiki page https://wiki.domoticz.com/MQTT_AD_Report_Problems

Re: New Version 2026_1 Problems with Thermostat
I only use the setpoint on the Spirit thermostats to control the temperatures via the timer. This had been working without any issues so far with the Open Z-Wave Domoticz version and then with the JS-UI version 2025-2. I have 10 thermostats, I’m not an expert, and I was happy to have finally managed to switch to the Z-Wave JS-UI version after a lot of effort. It seems there have been changes in Domoticz regarding thermostat control. However, I hope the issue with the temperature setpoint no longer working can be fixed in an update. For now, I’ve reverted back to the working version 2025-2. Does anyone know if this bug is known and will be fixed in an update? If no one has any information, where can I specifically report this so it gets addressed?

Re: New Version 2026_1 Problems with Thermostat
Sorry, I'm no expert and don't know if this is a Domoticz or MQTT autodiscovery issue. All I can say is that the Eurotronic Spirit thermostats worked perfectly in version 2025_2, but no longer in the new version 2026_1. Are there any experiences from other users of these thermostats? As they worked before, it must be a Domoticz issue. I’d really don’t want to have to remove 10 thermostats (some of them difficult to reach) and possibly re-include them entirely. That’s why I’m currently using the working version 2025_1 again. I hope someone can help me.

Re: New Version 2026_1 Problems with Thermostat
Have you read what Walter was telling?
Do you have new devices (Thermostat6) in the devices overview tab? Or In the Temperature overview tab?
If yes, you should be able to control your thermostats with them.
With 'stopped working' , When you 'control' them (specify a setpoint) that stopped working? (I am not talking about reception)
But first check if you have thermostat6 devices first (and yes you probably can replace the old setpoints with them)

Re: New Version 2026_1 Problems with Thermostat
In Z-Wave JS-UI, all Spirit thermostats are listed as Setpoint v3. I use this to control the temperature with Domoticz 2025_2. When Domoticz was updated to 2026_1, I didn’t see any v6 devices. If there are no planned changes in Domoticz regarding the Eurotronic Spirit thermostats, I’ll have to perform another update after the heating season. What exactly should I do then? After the update, should I enable hardware detection to see if new devices were detected in JS-UI or Domoticz? If no v6 is detected, should I remove all 10 thermostats and re-add them? I’d like to avoid that if possible, since some of them are difficult to access.

Yes first try with accept new hardware enabled, but I do not think this matters much, but enable it, and restart the MQTT Auto Discovery hardware in Domoticz.

Re: New Version 2026_1 Problems with Thermostat
Thanks, that means Domoticz won’t be releasing any updates for the thermostats in 2026_02, and I’ll have to try and see if the Eurotronics Spirit still works with version 2026_01 ? Do you think it should work without to remove them from the heating system and re-include them again? If I understand you correctly, it’s not a problem with Z-Wave JS-UI, since everything has worked so far, but rather that the new Domoticz version didn’t import the data correctly, or does it make sense to re-interweave the thermostats with js-ui? With hardware detection and restarting MQTT Autodiscovery, I can try again to see if the thermostats are recognized in 2026_1 ?

Re: New Version 2026_1 Problems with Thermostat
What version of Domoticz did you update to? Stable or beta? I recently updated to stable 2026.1. I have several of the same thermostats as you and Zwave-JS-UI, and everything works fine after the update, exactly as it did before the update.

Re: New Version 2026_1 Problems with Thermostat
Thanks for this helpful information. I had updated from the Windows stable version 2025_2 to stable 2026_1 and was then unable to control any thermostats. Neither could the timer set the setpoint, nor were manual changes made to the thermostat transmitted to Domoticz. However, I had already added the Eurotronic Spirit thermostats some time ago by using the Domoticz Open Z-Wave version. Zwave-JS-UI had recognized the thermostats perfectly, after leaving the Open Zwave version und using Domoticz 2025_2. In the meantime, I’ve switched back to the stable version 2025_2 so I can continue controlling the heaters. As soon as the heating season is over (in about 1–2 weeks), I’ll switch back to the stable version 2026_1 and analyze the problem more closely. It probably makes sense to perform a new interview in JS-UI for all 10 thermostats before. However, I didn’t understand what it means that we should no longer use setpoint v3 but v6 in the new version. Did you have to change anything regarding the thermostats in your setup with the new Domoticz version 2026_1?

Re: New Version 2026_1 Problems with Thermostat
After switching to Zwave-JS-UI, I added all the thermostats again. I did this a long time ago, using an older version of Domoticz. Now, after updating to the latest stable version, everything works just as well. I didn't have to change anything.

Re: New Version 2026_1 Problems with Thermostat
Thanks. As soon as the heating is no longer needed (in about 1–2 weeks), I’ll update to version 2026_1 again. I hope that will be enough to create new interviews in JS-UI for the thermostats and enable hardware detection in Domoticz so that the thermostats are displayed. One more question: so far, I’ve been controlling the temperature using the setpoint in the Utilities. Will the thermostats’ setpoints then automatically appear under “Temperatures” in version 2026_1, and can they be controlled from there using the timer?

My temperature control works exactly the same as before. I wasn't aware of any changes to this feature. I learned about it from this topic.
