Gas meter drops suddenly to 0 - using P1

Post by RoelofS »

hello,
for many years I have been succesfully using Domotics/RPI/P1 cable to monitor gas & electra use.
( Until about a year ago, when domoticz started to freeze about once a day- different story...not solved, I grudgingly live with it )
MY recent problem is that on nov12 2025 the gas reading suddenly dropped to 0

I checked the gas meter, contacted Enexis and ANWB ( my connection resp energy supplier). I have been able to verify that
the gas meter is actively & correctly sending wireless data to the smart electricity meter; my (phone-) ANWB app shows the correct gas use,
but my Domoticz "GAS USage" graph shows a flat line - like a heart monitor showing somebody died.....
On would expect P1 cable problems, however, there is nothing wrong with the electricity part of the P1-readout: Domoticz shows all the phase, power to and from the net etc..

I have done all the obvious things : restarting, rebooting, unplugging both the RPI power supply as well as the P1 wire....
The domoticz log file does not show any line for gas use.... but I don't know if it did before my problem appeared.
The gas meter entry does show up in the Domoticz devices list - with same user ID & icon in columns 4 & 2 as the "slimme meter Power" ... and shows "last seen" as today, 5 minutes ago, when I now look at it... ???!!

I have made no changes whatsoever to the set-up in the last half year.... So why is this happening ?

Any suggestions welcome...

May be an issue with the bluetooth connection between the gas meter and your smart meter?

Dit you try resetting the smart meter? (turn off the power in case you have a main switch befor the meter)
