MQTT broker question

Post by Herman-H »

I'm a noob, a question: is it possible to use Homey's MQTT broker in Domoticz instead of local host in MQTT Client Gateway with LAN interface?

Mosquitto is an MQTT-Broker, which you could call the server that acts as an store-and-forward of the MQTT packages send/received bij the clients.
Domoticz and Homey are clients the Send/receive MQTT messages.
So when your question is: Can I use a MQTT-Broker running on another server with the Domoticz client then the answer is: Yes you can, simply supply the correct ip address of the target server.

You can also install a MQTT broker or Server (the new term) on Homey. https://homey.app/nl-nl/app/net.weejewe ... TT-Server/

If you installed that you can use that Homey MQTT Server/broker as the MQTT server in your network, also for Domoticz to publish to and subscribe on.
Domoticz running on Udoo X86 (on Ubuntu)
Devices/plugins: ZigbeeforDomoticz (with Xiaomi, Ikea, Tuya devices), Nefit Easy, Midea Airco, Omnik Solar, Goodwe Solar
