Dashticz - Alternative Dashboard

Post by robgeerts »

Domoticz has a few skins to choose from.
Because I wasn't satisfied by the skins Domoticz offers, I decided to create a separate dashboard wich uses the data from Domoticz.

Target is to not only use Bootstrap for creating templates easier but also I want to create a dashboard where different platforms can be controlled like Domoticz (duh) and XBMC/Kodi.
This project can be found on GitHub: https://github.com/robgeerts/Dashticz

Installation of Dashticz on a webserver with PHP and CURL enabled is optional, you'll get some extra functionality.

There is a good change that "DarkticZ" wil come available as a theme within Dashticz.

Hi!
Looking great! :D

I made a subfolder in 'www' called 'dash', but when I access it from the browser, I seem to be missing some colours/graphics (see attachment). I cannot generate graphs too....

What am I doing wrong?

It looks like an error occured, what kind of graph do you expect?
It should automatically appear on this page. But, I have only tested my own hardware and the hardware of another user.

Your block 'Elektraverbruik' should not appear, this one should be a graph.
Could you email (robgeerts [AT] gmail) me the output you get (the whole text) when you go to:
http://DOMOTICZ-URL/json.htm?type=devic ... order=Name

(in my case DOMOTICZ-URL = 192.168.1.3:8084)

Is it (in the future) possible to change the icons? on this moment i see only a light icon near my switches. I would like to change some icons to a pc, door, fire icon.

Yes, that will be possible!
If you have any other request, you can add it to the github page!

This skin is seriously looking good, awesome job guys! The white version is a bit too light for me, so i use the darkoticz version.

I really like how easy it is to use this, just download and extract the .zip, place it a new folder inside the 'www' folder, star some items to your Domoticz dashboard, and you are good to go

Some comments/bugs to fix:
- (Darkoticz) Electricity is hard too read in the hover on the graph. I can read the time, but the usage is in a very light grey color, on a white background :P Make the text black or something
- (Darkoticz) I would make the lightbulb icon for a switch that is activated white, instead of this grey. White makes it much easier to tell if it is on. The grey color for the switches that are off, is fine
- There is no information on how to add items to the dashboard. I found out by myself i need to add items to my domoticz dashboard, by clicking the star at a switch. Put this kind of information at the GitHub page :)
- Load switches/items via roomplan method, instead of adding every switch to Domoticz dashboard. I also use the Dashboard in apps, and if i need to add every switch i want to show on this skin, my dashboard is polluted.
By using roomplans you don't have this :)

Keep up the good work!

Nice job all - this looks really great.

I have some energy meters which were missing. Pull request with changes: https://github.com/robgeerts/Dashticz/pull/6

In the pull request I also changed the language in the code to English. I thought it confusing to have it mixed in both English/Dutch. Perhaps we can work on translations so that either language will be reflected throughout the page.

Anyway I really like this dashboard - will be contributing lots more! I'm a web dev/sysadmin by trade.

Thanks for everybody's suggestions, commits and ideas!
@ThinkPad, It will be possible in one of the future-versions to add switches wich aren't set as favorite!
It will also be possible to re-arrange blocks and change some settings of the blocks.

@dave, thanks for your contribution! I have started with the multiple-language feature!

Great work, and it looks great. Some of the colors, as ThinkPad mentioned, might need some tweaking, but other than that: really great.

Furthermore, I like it to be based on a roomplan, or based on a list of switches which you can easily turn on or off so this won't interfere with other apps that use the 'favorites'. I see you are already working on that request, so: great!

One question: I have a KAKU doorbell, and in Domoticz I can 'push' this doorbell and I will heard the doorbell and I will get a notification on my iPhone. But in Dashticz I can't seem to 'push' this switch. How come? Not that I will need it, because why should I push the doorbell when I'm at home or when I'm not :D ? But it seems weird to me that I can't push it in Dashticz. Maybe something to look into?

I have just added support for this, could you test this in the latest version from GitHub?

Yes, it works :) ! So nice to ring the doorbell at 22:15 from my laptop

Sorry, my dear......

Thanks !

Edit: minor issue:

Long(er) switchnames are not shown entirely. On the next line, only the top of the remaining text is shown.

In a future version it will be possible to easily show blocks again.
for now, this is only possible to remove the saved data in domoticz, it has been saved in a uservariable called 'dashticz_blockhide'.

Do you mean you want to use 2 dashticz-installatie on one Domoticz-installation?

Yes i want to have several dashticz on one instalation of domoticz (to have 2 differents dashboard)

The greatest way is to have an individual dash board per domoticz user.

For example i log with user test i hide some devices, with the user test 2 i can have all devices... so if the name of user variables in domotciz could be with the user prefix it will be great! (ex test_dashticz_blockorder, test_dashticz_blockhide )

thx for your help

Ok, I will soon look into this.
I've added this request to the GitHub-page (https://github.com/robgeerts/Dashticz/issues/18) where you can follow the progress!
