Problem with motion sensor zigbee

Post by jibenito »

Hi, I'm writing hoping for your help.
For several weeks (almost months) I've been having problems with Zigbee2MQTT and the motion sensors. They don't work directly. They don't change their status in Zigbee2MQTT and therefore in Domoticz. I've reinstalled Z2M; I have the latest version of both Z2M and Domoticz (beta). I have the latest version of everything (with a Sonoff controller). I've reconnected the sensors, but although they pair without problems, the motion status doesn't change. I don't know what to do anymore...
Has anyone had the same problem or can give me any ideas on what I can do?
Thank you very much.

I have that with some sensors, you first have to remove them completely from the zigbee network before they are able to fully reconnect/pair and reporting updates again.

They are all motion sensors. Mainly aqara, but other manufacturers also. How do I completely remove the sensors? I've tried deleting them and forcing them to be removed. I also reinstalled Z2M from scratch, but everything remains the same :(

I do not use zigbee2mqtt so i do not know. They have to be removed in such a way they are also removed from the paired devices on the zigbee coördinator (usb stick?)

How do I remove devices from the coordinator? The problem is, even with new motion sensors, I have the same problem. I pair them, and they just sit there... doing nothing.

Perhaps better to check the zigbee2mqtt forum: https://github.com/Koenkk/zigbee2mqtt/discussions

Thanks, I open a new thread there. I hope a solution can be found between the two of us. Thanks

If you click on the device in the Z2M front end and then click on the Exposes tab do you it's state change there when it detects movement ?

Finally, I found the problem. I even went so far as to purchase another ZigBee coordinator (first a conbee ii an after a conbee III) and set up a parallel network, but the ZigBee coordinator I purchased for this purpose wasn't working as I'd hoped, although the motion sensors at least updated their status. As a last resort, I checked for software or firmware updates again and found a firmware for the Sonoff coordinator from March that I hadn't seen before (and it's not because I wasn't looking). I updated it, and voila, everything suddenly started improving. Not only were the motion sensors working, but the Domoticz network was much better (I was having performance issues; some switches didn't work the first time, others were slow to respond, etc.). Now everything works as it should, except for one temperature sensor, which I'll fix as soon as I change the battery ;-)

Best regards, and thank you very much for your patience!

I use 8.0.2 from https://github.com/darkxst/silabs-firmw ... r/releases and that version fixed some issues I had with OTA upgrades of devices (but that is from February and not March). I saw something that 8.0.3 had issues so I do not dare to upgrade at this point.

In

https://www.zigbee2mqtt.io/guide/adapters/zstack.html

you have the coordinator firmware link

https://github.com/Koenkk/Z-Stack-firmw ... 250321.zip

I updated the sonoff and suddenly all worked again :-D
