Would be nice if the power source was written out above the bubble for the power users .....

Is it possible to describe more in detail what you would like to see, maybe with a illustrative picture as well?

You have some variation in icons you can use for these extra users. For the rest all objects are identified by icons.

Edit: In beta you can set the switch in energy dashboard settings for custom icons. Then the (custom) icon of the device will be used. When you for example change the power icon on the heater device to an heater Icon that icon will also be used on the Energy dashboard.

Ok, that would work, but how do you change the icon? I only see a few standard icons and there no instruction as i know of.

You have to change the icon on for example the heater device widget, see wiki https://wiki.domoticz.com/Managing_Devices#Change_Icon
The Icon you choose here (including a custom icon) will be shown also in the Energy dashboard when you enable the custom icon setting on Energy dahboard (currently only available on beta)
