When using Zigbee4Domoticz (I still am not sure you are using this or Zigbee2MQTT) you have to put the controller in pairing mode from the Z4D user interface. In the domoticz log you should see statements appear about the controller being in pairing mode.
When the controller is in pairing mode you have to press on the connect button on the plug. But you have to use the instruction of the plug as every zigbee device is a little bit different. When there is a button you normally have to press it a long time to put the plug in pairing mode. Normally you should see a led blink in a blue color. But this also depends on the device. So check the device instruction manual. Also connection messages about the pairing should be visible in the Domoticz log (menu Setup - Log).
If the device led does not blink something is wrong with the plug.
Decided to use plugin Zigbee for domoticz plugin Topic is solved

I did exactly that, pressed the button > 5 seconds, but the plug did not react.
By the way I am using "zigbeefordomoticz", seems well integrated

Did you first set ‘Accept new hardware’ in the zigbeefordomotcz plugin on the web-ui on port 9440 of that plugin?
I am following all your posts with some concern: please, carefully read all info and exactly follow the instructions on both the domoticz site and the zigbeefordomoticz github wiki. If you do all that, it simply works. I’ ve got my Sonoff Zigbee dongle running on my RPi4 for several years, rock stable, with several Zigbee devices of different suppliers.

Do you see that the controller is put into pairing mode in the Domoticz log?
Do you see pairing messages pop up after that when putting the plug into pairing mode?
Are you sure your plugs are zigbee and not wifi?
