schedule NEST thermostat on first monday of the month

Post by mancide »

Version: 2024.6
Platform: Raspbian GNU/Linux 11 (bullseye)
Plugin/Hardware: Domoticz-NEST-plugin/Google NEST thermostat
Description:

I want to set the temperature for every first monday of the month at 20:00.

I go to the tab "utility"
I go to my thermostat and click on "timers"
On the tab "grid"
I use the following settings:
Type: Monthly (Weekly)
Time: 11:00
Persistent: off
Value: 21
Day: First Wednesday

I get a line like this every second:
2024-11-06 14:34:23.824 Status: Schedule item started! Name: Nest - clublokaal Heating Temp, Type: Monthly (Weekday), ThermostatID: 23, Time: 2024-11-06 14:34:23

the NEST plugin doesn't like that very much and returns an error "too many requests" after about 8 minutes...

should the setpoint be set every second? or is this a bug?

remark: an "On Time" type seems to work just fine (but then it's executed every week)

Better maken an issue on the plugin. https://github.com/FilipDem/Domoticz-NEST-plug. A monthly timer shouldn't trigger anything outside it's range.

The timer is on the setpoint device in Domoticz how can this be a bug in the plugin???

Apparently there is an issue in communicating the timer switch action with the nest thermostat. That part is handled by the plugin.

You could check with a dummy thermostat device and set a monthly timer action on it and see if there is the same issue. If so then there is an issue with Domoticz and not in the plugin.
