Check for update updates instantly

Post by imautohuttraeger »

On click on Setup / Check for update, an update is instantly made if a new version exists. If you have missed to make a fresh backup before you might run into trouble.

So it would be helpful to really only check, if an update exists. And if it exists, the user should have the option of executing or skipping it.

It should ask for confirmation before updating. But I must say I see it sometimes too on my beta environment. Never on my stable.

But part of the update script is to make a complete backup of your Domoticz environment so you can always revert back to previous release.

I don't mean the popup when a new version exists. This has indeed a confirmation as far as I remember.

But the menu item of "setup" instantly made the update (from old stable version to new stable version).

Fortunately I backup frequently and especially before I make substantial changes or even FW updates. However, I never had problems - a quality evidence for new Domoticz versions!
