Fail to update from 2022.1 to new versions

Post by Itschi »

Hi,

I didn't do an Domoticz Update on my windows 10 system for a while as everything worked fine so far. Now I'm running into compatibility issues with some plugins and new devices. That's why I wanted to update. After installing 2024.4 over my existing 2022.1 Installation all devices and scripts were gone. I tried with some older Domoticz versions I found as Windows Installer in the net. The only one I could get running is 2022.2. Later ones like 2024.1 or the latest 2024.4 all leave me with empty device tabs and script.

With all updates I did i the past existing devices and scripts where taken over.

Is there a specific update path I have to take to keep devices and scripts?

Regards, Itschi

Seems your database is somehow removed while updating (it should not).

What if you stop Domoticz, copy the database file domoticz.db to a safe location. Update Domoticz, check the database file is still the same size and modified. If it is overwritten somehow you can copy the saved database file back in it original location and start domoticz again.
Domoticz running on Udoo X86 (on Ubuntu)
Devices/plugins: ZigbeeforDomoticz (with Xiaomi, Ikea, Tuya devices), Nefit Easy, Midea Airco, Omnik Solar, Goodwe Solar

Thank you for the hint. I check the DB-File directory that contained two additional files (-shm, -whl).
