Wifi Weather station possible?
Hi All,
I am reading this topics, and it seems that there are a lot of issues with different sensors and stations.
I am wondering if there are any Wifi based weather stations that can be connected with Domoticz?
I am not after a very high end station, just want to use the station to control blinds, curtains.

If you really only want to use it for this purpose a lux (light) sensor is enough. I am not sure about wifi but a lot of zigbee motion sensors also have a lux sensor.
You could also use your solar panels as a light sensor.
But a decent weather station is always nice to have . I am curious too is someone advises a reasonable priced device

Hi Obelix,
I successfully use the weather station WH-2081: wireless weather station with 2 AA NiMH batteries, that communicate (433 MHz?? I don't know) with a palm that can be connected by USB to Raspberry/PC with Domoticz.
It works like a charm.
Full details about configuration at https://www.creasol.it/support/domotics ... d-domoticz
Bye. Paolo

Or you can make Dummy hardware, create virtual sensors and take weather conditions you need from OpenWeathermap.

Or use one of the build in weather services https://www.domoticz.com/wiki/Weatherhabahabahaba wrote: ↑Saturday 09 March 2024 20:45 Or you can make Dummy hardware, create virtual sensors and take weather conditions you need from OpenWeathermap.

Re: Wifi Weather station possible?
The problem with those build-in weather services is, that they don't have really local weather.
I experienced it myself for my sunscreen.
So I bought an Alecto WS5000 and now I have real local weather from by backyard.
Now I know when (local) wind gets too strong for my sunscreen, and I raise it in time.

Logic will get you from A to B. Imagination will take you everywhere.

Indeed your own weather station is better. There are some Alecto ones that can be used, see https://www.domoticz.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=21248
