Weird delay Zigbee4domoticz>Zigbee device

Post by olleman »

Hey!

I'm running latest stable of zigbee4domoticz and latest Domoticz on win10. I have the Sonff Zigbee dongle. I recently moved the server from one hardware to another and backed up Domoticz and all related plugins and restored on the new computer. Everything seems to have gone well. In this process I also upgraded Domoticz and Zigbee4domoticz to latest version. (Therefor I don't know if it's the new computer or the upgraded versions that gives me the below problem).

After this I have this strange problem. In the first ~24 hours of the server running, everything runs and works as epected but after this timeframe (not exact) I start to have delays. I can switch a zigbee device from whithin Domoticz, the log indicates that the switch has been made but it takes up to 30 seconds before the switch actually switches. This goes for all my zigbee devices but my other devices, like 433mhz is unaffected.

If I remove the zigbee dongle from the USB connection and then reinsert it the problem goes away for a while and then comes back.

Any idea on how to investigate further or what the cause might be?

Could be USB port settings related.

Are there any settings in particular you're referring to?

No but windows sometimes does strange things with USB drives, disconnecting when not expected etc.
You could try to use a different port.

do you use a usb cable to connect your Dongle, so the Dongle is not exposed from the Computer interferences ?

Last sharing Logs would help (maybe they are errors that can explain what is happening). Sharing also what is the status on the WebUI Dashboard would helpfull
Zigbee for Domoticz plugin / RPI3B+ / Electrolama ZZH-P / 45 devices

It seems to be the USB port or possibly the USB-hub I'm using that's causing the problem. I went from a desktop computer to using an old Microsoft Surface Pro 3. I have all USB devices connected to the one usb port with 2 usb hubs. When I connect the computer to it's docking station and use those USB port the problem seems to have gone away. I need to test further because I need to disconnect the docking station from time to time which leads to other problems.
