You can use blocky to turn on or off a light when start or stop an activity. You can't directly control it with the harmony remote.

Re: Harmony support, new hardware?
That's the only way I know too.
A workaround could be to create dummy activities on the harmony which triggers event/script.
Or to buy a RF433/Zwave remote, which triggers events in domoticz and the harmony activities.

Okey,
hm...most do some investigation on this when I get my harmony. Damn, think i just bought it a little early.
I wanted the light to turn on when i pause and dimm down when I press play... Thats not possible if activities is the only way to trigger domoticz.

Maybe you can figure out something, like a domoticz dummy pause button, which sends command to the hub and switches on the lights.

Re: Harmony support, new hardware?
I want it to do the other way. From harmony hub -> domoticz
Anyone got something like that to work?
Getting my harmony ultimate tomorrow. Most decide if it a waste of money (return it) or if this could be done.
I guess its impossible to get this working if you cant send custom commands (curl?) from the harmony hub.
best regards
Cristopher

Re: Harmony support, new hardware?
I bought a Harmony Smart Control and I have to say it works pretty well with Domoticz.
Just before we get home the TV, receiver and UPC decoder already turn on so we have live TV instead of having to wait before the UPC decoder has finished starting up. Also all the lights (Hue, Zwave) in the room already turn on.
Total home automation with Domoticz....

No, the Harmony Hub does not allow to send custom curl requests.pipari wrote:I want it to do the other way. From harmony hub -> domoticz

Even though it is probably be equiped to do it perfectly since it is WiFi, there no option in the MyHarmony set up to add cutom HTTP requests.
I guess Logitech reserves that to the new Harmony Home family of products, more dedicated towards home automation.
However, the products look very similar. Itis a shame that Logitech makes us turn to yet another product.

Re: Harmony support, new hardware?
Hi, I just read all the post on this forumtopic and I’m much exacted to try this in the future.
But I have one question or a scenario have what to solve before I purchase my setup:
I want the remote to turn on power to my components when I select an activity on the remote.
Is there any way to use the harmony plugin for Domoticz to solve this scenario or It seems that the Logitech remote can control a Nexa Switch, maybe I can create a virtual switch that start my soon purchased GreenWave PowerNode 6? (I want to use the PowerNode to get power energy

Yes but I want to turn on the Power for my TV, Receiver, DVD, Mediacenter. maybe I can insert a delay Before the remote start sending the commands.

For this the harmony is perfect.micksel wrote:Yes but I want to turn on the Power for my TV, Receiver, DVD, Mediacenter. maybe I can insert a delay Before the remote start sending the commands.
You can create a activity "watch DVD" in the harmony setup and all these devices will be switched on or off

Re: Harmony support, new hardware?
Ahhhh. Yes that's possible with Domoticz.
When activity is off, turn power socket off.
You can use blocky or lua for this

Re: Harmony support, new hardware?
You can add a delay in the Harmony settings for a device. So add an on-delay in all devices so that the IR blaster waits a few seconds before turning on everything, because all the devices need some time to do some stuff when the power turns on.
But anyway, most modern devices use less than 0,5W in standby. So it might take a few years before your potential savings reach the level of the purchase price of the switch. And remember, your switch also uses power when doing nothing.
So maybe it is not even worth the hassle.
And the Harmony Hub needs to be powered on at all times, so in the end you probably won't gain any substantial power savings at all.

cant you add a scene/group, and learn this activity as code ? and put your devices in there that you want to control?micksel wrote:I Dont Think you understand me, I now about the Harmony activitys and On/Off but I want to shutdown/Turn On the powersocket when I press an activity on my remote = No standby mode

Re: Harmony support, new hardware?
Thanx for the great work on this functionality, but it is giving me some issues (mentioned before)
Running on my raspberri pi 2 B+ I get this message every +- 3 minutes:
Tue Feb 10 21:06:30 2015 Error: Harmony Touch Ultimate hardware (2) thread seems to have ended unexpectedly
Tue Feb 10 21:06:51 2015 Harmony Hub: Too many commands missed. Resetting connection.
Tue Feb 10 21:06:52 2015 Harmony Hub: Authentication succesfull
This doesn't sound right to me...
Before running on the Pi I had a domoticz instance running on a VMWare virtual machine with ubuntu server, (intel x86) and never saw this log message on the system, only on the Pi (2).
Any ideas? Running the latest beta (last stable gave the same error)
