So what is the problem again?
If you use the dimmer from 0 to for example 50 will the siren go also?

Good morning,

No, that's the whole problem. Can't get the siren to work with domoticz

It seems from the discussion on the Zwave-JS issue that from zwavejs you should use the dimmer as a switch. 0 is off, 255 is on. Is that working in Zwave-JS-UI?

Yes, that's how it works for lamps, when you set the dimmer to 20%, the lamp will light up. you would also expect this with the siren. so if I set the dimmer to 50%, it will make 50% noise at the sound level.

but as has been said before, it does nothing when I play with the dimmer in Domoticz. At the time of typing, all 8 dimmers have been at 100% for an hour to see if anything happens, possibly with a delay (this was also done with 1 dimmer) because perhaps if you set all 8 to 100%, other things will happen. disturbed.

Anyway, as it is also written, HA modifications were also needed, I suspect that something also needs to be done in Domoticz (but that is layman's language) since I am a user and not a developer.

For the sake of clarity and completeness, if you turn the dimmer on or off in Domoticz, it will come on in Zwave Js. The mqtt will then be

2023-10-01 09:42:03.544 INFO MQTT: Message received on zwaveNW/sirene_aeotec_6/121/1/volume/set: '0'
2023-10-01 09:42:28.282 INFO MQTT: Message received on zwaveNW/sirene_aeotec_6/121/1/volume/set: '100' I will also put this in github zwavejs to be sure. so that they can also find something about it, but the fact remains that adjustments were also needed in HA, but of course that does not mean that this also has to be done in Domoticz, but somewhere there is a one or zero skew.

No, I mean in Zwave-JS-UI. So what is the action (or actions) to switch the siren on/off in Zwave-JS-UI?

There you choose the sound with an option such as bell 1 [75-121-1-toneId] Play Tone and choose the tone you want to play and then press save and the siren will emit tones.

By save I don't mean at the bottom of the screen but next to the field that the API writeValue called indicates

That sounds complicated. There is no other way?

What kind of options do you have on the setup button in Domoticz MQTT Auto discover hardware (menu setup hardware)? From the MQTT discover messages It does not seems so but perhaps we missed something here.

I don't quite understand what you mean by
"What kind of options do you have on the setup button in Domoticz MQTT "
what do you mean by options?
I have the standard fields there, but otherwise I don't see anything that could mean anything or resemble options,

that's completely empty!

Do you agree with me that it all becomes very complicated because there are things missing. parts of this device in domoicz.

As a beginner, I just dived into Node Red and that's how I got the siren on. so in the mqtt and zwave js the problem is not when it comes to getting the siren on and off.

what matters is that things cannot be controlled from domoticz
Or if you look at it another way, the fields of this siren do not come across to domoticz.

I keep looking for where I need to be now
domoticz
or
zwave js ui

Since device x is programmed somewhere, you have to transfer those things to domoticz
and in this case we are missing the most important part of a siren, turning it on and off.

I am anything but a developer and therefore look at it somewhat as a layman.

Perhaps there is someone who can help me with how I can tell the zwave js ui device script to also transfer the sound fields to domoticz because those are the activations for sound from that thing.
this is the node red mqtt code

zwaveNW/sirene_aeotec_6/121/1/toneId/set

zwavanNW is the mqtt in domoticz
sirene_aeotec_6 is the name in zwave js ui
121/1 is the field under the node zwave js ui where the last 1 stands for the first sound of the 8

but I just hope that someone knows where I can put this so that I and all Domoticz users can use this device in a correct and normal way.

Well I am out of options. Perhaps an experienced Zwave-JS-UI user with the same Siren can jump aboard because this does not seem to be a straight forward Zwave device also not from Zwave-JS-UI point of view.

thank you for your efforts and I also hope that there is a developer that can solve this because it goes further (too far) for "normal" users

and otherwise it's a shame about the siren, it was handy that I had a good one with a lot of sounds ;-)

Perhaps you can install MQTT Explorer and see what is all known of this device by in MQTT for Domoticz MQTT Autodiscover. Perhaps we are missing something here. https://www.domoticz.com/wiki/MQTT#Use_ ... lorer_tool

There will be a homeassistant folder with all ZwaveJS specific devices (Binary Sensors, Sensors, Switches, Number etc) and a zwaveNW/sirene_aeotec_6 folder with the data specific for your siren

thanks for the tip, I already use an Explorer, but I have no idea what and how I can further investigate the problem. I now have a slider in node red to make the sound louder and softer live. So it looks very much like there is something wrong with Domoticz. I have clarified a few things on the GitHub at Domoticz and I really hope that a developer will look into it. because Aeotec is quite a good brand, even with their Zwave USB stick, so you would expect that their items would be well implemented.

for your information
this is what it says at siren_1 status

Well personally it seems something wrong on the Zwave-JS-UI side as they only publish a dimmer (volume) device. So when you from Zwave-JS-UI set the volume to a value (eg 50) you should hear something. If that is not the case Domoticz can not do anything with this device with Autodiscover as the Dimmer is the only device it gets from Zwave-JS-UI.

If you hear the siren when setting the volume from Zwave-JS-UI you should also be able to trigger the siren from Domoticz with the Dimmer devices. If you can switch it on from Zwave-JS-UI with the dimmer (volume) but not from Domoticz then it could perhaps be solved in Domoticz.

This is far to less information for this device in MQTT Explorer. There should be a lot more.
Are you on the latest version of Zwave-JS-UI?

version numbers
domoticz. Version 2023.2 build 15457
MQTT. Version 2.0.18
szwen js ui. zwave-js-ui: 8.26.0.08e6a7e
zwave-js: 11.14.3
I only set status 1 in my previous message. What I do notice now is that I no longer see the volume buttons, which was visible. that's strange, I'll refresh everything again just to be sure and possibly remove the siren and add it again. If there are any changes here after my actions, I will post them here.
