2gang Girier dimmer switch problem in Zigbee4Domoticz

Post by olleman »

Hello!

I have a possible bug for a girier (tuya)dimmer switch 2 gang.
https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005003 ... 7RyiPFROAW

I'm running plugin version: 6.4.413 [2.40] under Win10 and Python 3.8.

When turning off "gang 1 OR 2" in Domoticz it turns off and the status in Domoticz indicates "off" but after about 10 seconds it seems to get a status update from the dimmer switch and indicates that both gang 1 and gang 2 (regardless of witch one was turned off) are turned on at dimmer level 100%. But the lights remain off.

When turning off "gang 1 OR 2" on the physical switch the correct status is immidietly reported in Domoticz.

This also happens when I for example change the dimming level from Domoticz. The dimming level will change but Domoticz will report 100% dimmer level and "ON" after about 10 seconds.

I'm not sure if the log file is helpful but I'm attaching it anyway.

Waiting for @pipiche to arrive in this topic (perhaps change the title as does not mention Zigbee4Domoticz)
If you go to the Z4D User interface is it mentioned as an optimized device? See also https://zigbeefordomoticz.github.io/wik ... evice.html

sorry I was not watching that one.

The question from @waltervl is the good one. How does this device show in the Device Management view ? Is that optimized or not ?

Can you provide an export.json -> From WebUI > Tools > Plugin Raw Devices

Eventually you could also add debug Tuya so we can find more information from the logs

Last, the plugin version you are on, is out-dated, and it is advised to move to stable7 .

Hi, thanks for quick answers as usual!

The device shows as not optimized.

I added Tuya under Tools > Debug > advanced settings > Tuya
Pushed the physical switch on/off and dimmer action. This should be the relevant part from the log.

Regarding the update, it's always been a bit of a hazzle doing upgrades for me since I'm running under win10. Do you have any special pointers for the upgrade other than following the wiki?

Re: 2gang Girier dimmer switch problem in Zigbee4Domoticz

Post by pipiche »

indeed that is a 2 gangs dimer which was not supported.

I have pushed an updated configuration for that module, this would required a full re-pairing ( removing all widgets, removing device from plugin, and then re-pairing)

You would need [2.85] of the device configuration package

Here is the generic procedure to upgrade to 7
https://github.com/zigbeefordomoticz/wi ... ase_7.1.md

I don't see much issue with Windows except in regards to some python3 modules which might not be so easy. And make sure that you run ALL commands with Administrator privileges

I have pushed an updated configuration for that module, this would required a full re-pairing ( removing all widgets, removing device from plugin, and then re-pairing)

You would need [2.85] of the device configuration package

Here is the generic procedure to upgrade to 7

Update went super smooth.

I just tried a new git pull but no new changes were found. Redid the pairing but the device behave the same, how do I get the 2.85 package? Currently I'm on 2.84.

You need to do the python module update

Python3 -m pip install -r requirements.txt —upgrade from an Administrative account

Ok, I'm on 2.85 now and the device shows as optimized. It behaves the same though so no improvement in the actual use of the dimmer switch.

Did you redo the pairing from scratch ?

hm..I thought I did but apparently something happened when I tried it again.

Now if I turn on Gang 1 in domoticz and set for instance 50% dimming level. The lihgt turns on and set the correct dimming level. In Domoticz, however, the light is indicated to be "off" but it remembers the dimming level. Before it always indicated "on" and 100% dimming level.

If I do the same for gang 2 it reports "off" but 100% dimming level (this gang is not connected to any light at the moment so I cannot confirm wheter it's turned on or off in reality.

I'm not sure I'm following you.
When you say, I turn Gang 1 in domoticz and set for instance 50% dimming level. How can Domoticz reports Off as you have just set it up ?

I just saw in Z2M that the firmware of this device seems to be buggy and we need to do some hack. I'll see what I can do

looks like we have to switch on and then do the dim

can you try that ?

You switch it On, and then you dim ?

In Domoticz: I turn the light "on". It first shows as on but after about 10 seconds it reports back as off, I assume that it get's a status update from the device. The Dimming level set in Domoticz is NOT rememberd it's rather remebering the last diming level set with the actual switch on the wall. So if I change the dimming level in Domoticz, the same thing happens: The slider first indicates the new dimming level but after about 10 seoncs it moves back to the previous position.

As before, doing changes in the physical button gives the correct status in Domoticz

Turning on and then dimming from Domoticz doesn't solve it.

can you switch to branch: hotfix-stable7-7.1.003

Code: Select all

git pull
git checkout hotfix-stable7-7.1.003
sudo python3 -m pip install -r requirements.txt --upgrade
instead of sudo - you must use Administrator Command

restart the plugin, and let see how it behaves ...

ok, now running 2.87 hotfix. It's behaving the opposite now.

Turning on from Domoticz turns the light on, Domoticz still indicates on after 10 seconds but with the wrong dimming level. When turning of from Domoticz the light turns off but after 10 seconds it reports as "on" in Domoticz again. (This is för Gang 1).

Just a quick question. It says on Aliexpress that this device should be Zigbee 3.0 compatible but as I read from the notes of version 7 of the plugin all zigbee 3.0 devices are compatible with the plugin. Does this mean that the device really isn't Zigbee 3.0?

With Tuya , you never know.
ZIgbee 3.0 compatible could means a lot.
- Compliant with Pairing could be enought to get the ZB3.0 tag ;-)
