Dear forum-members,
I am a happy user of a RPi4b + Conbee II + Aqara T/rh sensor + Domoticz + ZigbeeforDomoticz plugin.
Of course, right now my Coordinator connection type is USB. My question to you is triggered from the WiFi option in the hardware settings of the Zigbeefor Domoticz plugin (thank you, pipiche). Is it possible to connect the Conbee II stick via USB to a Raspberry Pi Zero 2 W, install Raspberry Pi OS lite and Python and just the plugin (not Domoticz) on the Zero 2 W? Then use the Web UI option to couple my sensor to the Zero 2 W. And then install Domoticz and the plugin on my RPi4b and use the WiFi option to refer to the Pi Zero 2 W? Is that an option? So, basically making my own WiFi-based open-source Zigbee coordinator.
Before you start asking: my question arises from the large distance between my RPi4b and the Aqara sensor, which cannot be changed.
Kindly your thoughts about this.

Re: ZigbeeForDomoticz WiFi option in Connection Type
Zigbee is a mesh network so if the distance of your battery sensor with your coordinator is to big you have to use Zigbee Routers in between. Normally every 230V powered zigbee device is also a router (bulb, socket, dimmer etc). You can also download router firmware on an extra zigbee USB stick. Ikea sells separate Zigbee routers.
The Wifi part in the plugin is coming from the Zigate Wifi device. That is a combined Zigbee coordinator with Wifi access. I gues (but pipiche will know for sure) that for other USB sticks it is not supported.

Re: ZigbeeForDomoticz WiFi option in Connection Type
Thank you, waltervl, for your reply. The first section of your answer is clear and known to me. The second part (about the Zigbee coordinator with WiFi access) is what I hoped to achieve with my Pi Zero 2 W / Conbee combination, but probably the WiFI option in the plugin will only accommodate the Zigate WiFi device, and not any generic WiFi Zigbee controller. Thanks!

You could give it a try with ser2net as the P1 smart meter https://www.domoticz.com/wiki/SharingSerialDevices
