Hi all,
I’m still using OpenZwave for my system - it’s actually really stable - I’ve not had an issue with anything for over a year. I have 38 z-wave devices. Basically all aeotec plugs or relays.
But yesterday I wanted to add 2 new aeotec dual dimmers to my network.
After each was paired - the whole of domoticz became unreachable for 30mins while the new relay was added.
Same for the next relay. Another 30mins.
Do I need to do a “defrag” type function on my aeotec z-stick 5?
Thanks for the help

Re: Slow to rebuild after adding new device (openz)
I would look in the OZW control panel and see if the initialisation is stalling somewhere, it loads each device in order of Node ID and sometimes it will stall at "cacheload" for example on a particular device. In that situation I would try to awaken manually the device by trying to get it to send a packet or by power cycling it. Last case scenario would be a exclude/include. I just had similar, turned out to be a dead Fibaro shutter controller.
My OZW would never complete initialisation and excluding the device solved this.
