The premium app still stays to exist, but not receiving any more updates.
You can move to the latest Domoticz via the import/export settings.
Hi, where can I submit a bug report?

The latest version seems to have removed the "User Variables" section from the app, which I use daily to set different values and tolerances for electricity prices, target temperatures etc
Not to be found under advanced settings as indicated in the change list?

My bad, it is there. I looked in settings but somehow missed it the first time around.
Can confirm it is there and works

I have paid for and installed the Premium Version.
Today it is updated to Version 0.2.327 (8928) However on the settings page it says download the newest version. By tapping on this line it points me to the points me to an older version with adds. Version 0.2.320 (8513)

You can understand that after buying a Premium version, I am not very keen in seeing adds. What version do I have to install from the play store?

Your running the beta builds from the Google Play store. I think that google didn't approved the Domoticz app, but did already approve the Domoticz Premium app. Is the update available for you now?

As stated in the dialog on the Premium app, you can still use the Premium app as long as you like. The new update is still available for the Premium installs. But I'm moving to 1 Domoticz app, and that one has the premium features under a Yearly Subscription. Premium can still be used if you like, but the one with subscriptions is going to get newer updates in the future.

Currently there are really not that much new premium users, so to keep my focus on this app, on which I've been working since before 2015, i need to think of other methods to get the support from the community. Hope you guys understand this. I'm introducing this with a bigger update, that also the premium app gets.

Hi,

Thank you for maintaining the mobile app. Have you thought about a donation button or link in the app? I have the premium version of the app but also donate yearly to all of the projects I use and support and I'm sure others do as well.

@galadril could I ask you to consider the following new function please.

I am on the process of integrating espresense (www.espresense.com) into domoticz (by means of a python plugin). Using simple esp32 modules flashed with espresense firmware, you can detect where BLE devices are (e.g. where a specific phone, watch, .. is in a house ie which room). These are really cheap devices. Flashing is really simple and no addirtional HW is needed. So brilliantly simple.

The base plugin already works but it really needs a 'known' BLE Beacon in order to function properly. The HA app has a function built in to enable the BLE beacon from their app. It would be brilliant if your domoticz app could do the same for iphone and android (e.g. copy the beacon function from the HA app). You don't want the beacon on all the time as that would then mean that everyone can track yor beacon, it would be best if the beacon is only on within the geofence as that's when you need it.

Would that be possible? It would be an excellent value add for the app.

Thanks for considering!

Herman

I got the update in the Premium version today and am a bit disappointed in the layout of the dashboard. There's not as much info in the blocks anymore. Temp + RV sensors now only show temp, names of devices that previously fit in the layout, are now cut short because for some reason there's less room for them (although my phones screen is still the same) and there's no more indication of when a device was last updated, which I found handy for the Zigbee sensors.

Hi can you please screenshot it? If there are bugs where info is cutoff I might pause the update.

Hi Herman..

Good idea.

I'm looking into this library to add support in the app for creating a BLE beacon:
https://github.com/adriancretu/beacons-android

I've created this feature request in github to keep track of it:
https://github.com/domoticz/domoticz-android/issues/656

I'll first finish of the release that is currently on Beta, and get that one in production first.
(and 3 week holiday in july)

The premium app still stays to exist, but not receiving any more updates.
You can move to the latest Domoticz via the import/export settings.
I supported you buying the premium version (that had an high price to be a mobile app) and now you are shutting down it forcing me to update to a subscription and pay again, and every month, to use the app?

The subscription model is good for services that require an operation cost but the app itself doesn't include any and is not updated very often.

Sorry this is not fair, I'll continue to use the premium version untill it will stop working (for example with android 13 update) and then will look for alternatives.

Bye,
I think it's a little short sighted to say you won't pay for newer updates, I thinks it would more likely depend on the yearly pricing. If it's a small fee to keep it going that won't be a big issue, if the purchase price becomes a yearly pricing for the amount of updates that we become that would be out of proportions I think. Lets see where this is going.

Thanks for the feedback. The premium app stays to exist but doesn't get big new features/updates.

I currently have not much new users anymore on the premium app after 7 years. That means that something had to change, or dont spend much time on the apps anymore, or change the premium model to subscriptions. I'm trying to do it in such a way that i don't piss people off, but thats probably gonna happen anyway :(

Please also check other home automation apps, like the iOS app pilot, or home assistant, they all also have some kind of subscription model to keep the devs on the project.
