Smoke detector Kaku ZSDR-850 / Heiman SmokeSensor-EM

Post by msnep »

Hi, I'm new here. I have an RPi running Domoticz (2021.1) and a ConbeeII to connect with Zigbee devices.
Works fine. Yesterday I bought 4 Kaku ZSDR-850 smoke detectors.
After updating the firmware (to latest version -1, the latest version doesn't work) in the ConbeeII dongle it shows up as Heiman SmokeSensor-EM in Domoticz. This is different than what others seem to have (HS1SA).
Anyway, when I test the smoke detector Domoticz sees it too, and I can do something with it (it's like a switch).

Question: does anybody else have experience with this smoke detector? Is it possible to sound the alarm in the smoke detector from Domoticz? Now nothing happens when I switch it on in Domoticz.
Also after a day the 'last seen' timestamp is not updated, so I worry that there is only communication when I press the test button on the smoke detector. That wouldn't be very useful.

Thanks!

I use deconz.

update: today the last-seen time stamp is from an hour ago, so it seems communication takes place from time to time, so that appears ok at least :)

Battery devices are lazy to not consume battery.
According to the device it seem you have a siren too, but I don't find information on deconz forum.
What is the battery ? You don't have a light entry created too for this device in deconz ?

Thank you for your help.
It has a CR123A battery.
No light shows up in deconz, under 'Lights' there is only the ConbeeII configuration tool.
Also not in the Phoscon app.

I have some other sensors, like Aqara water leak and door sensors, in the Phoscon app I see that they also report temperature. But in deConz in Domoticz the temperature is not reported.

Yep, because they are not reliable, it s on the hardware, so you can read them, but values are too much random to be usable.

For the smoke sensor, I can't say, a CR123A is a small battery, a siren need to be awake all the time to receive order, not sure this kind of batterie is enought to make that possible, nothing about the siren feature on the documentation ?

The manual mentions you should connect the smoke detector to a Kaku central station so that you can switch on the lights in case of fire, etc. So probably it's not possible to trigger the siren of the smoke detector.
Ok, so Domoticz is the central station in my case, and I could add a separate siren then.
