Atag Zone One thermostat

Post by mvveelen »

Hi there,

I'm aware of the Atag One plugin for Domoticz, but since today I have replaced my Nefit Easy for the new Atag Zone One thermostat.
Is there any chance of getting the readings in Domoticz too?

What could I do to get this added to Domoticz?

Hi,

On github you can find an API. (Probably also used by the Domoticz plugin).
See:
https://juur.link/2015/11/atag-one-thermostaat/
and
https://github.com/kozmoz/atag-one-api

If you "google", you will also find the description : https://atag.one/

It is a typical Node Red job: https://flows.nodered.org/node/node-red ... b-atag-one

So possibilities enough.

Well, this is all about the Atag One and not about the Atag Zone One.

I think that's why I can't get it added to my Domoticz, the Hardware is "Atag One" where I need the "Atag Zone One", or are both using the same plugin?

Hi

@mvveelen

My apologies that I overlooked, that the results are for the Atag One instead of the Atag Zone One.

You wrote:

Did you also replace your boiler?

Or does the Atag Zone One thermostat uses the Nefit EMS protocol?

Perhaps the API and/or the Node Red node supports also the Atag One thermostat.
That is easy to test with the NR node.

Hi,

yes the whole unit has been replaced by an Atag i36ECZ-CW5 boiler.

The Atag Zone One connects to the internet, so that is independent of the boiler as far as I know.

I was able to connect the Atag Zone One to Homekit, but I really would like to have the readings in Domoticz......

Hi,

@mvveelen

Perhaps the solution is to use HomeBridge Edomoticz.
A wiki exists and there are a number of users on this forum.

I don't understand. What will this do to add the Atag Zone One to Domoticz? Maybe you can explain a bit more?

Hi,

@mvveelen

It was just an idea, as I found: https://www.atagverwarming.nl/ondersteu ... asystemen/

Homebridge Edomoticz is an interface between Domoticz and Homekit.

Recently I noted this thread on this forum: https://www.domoticz.com/forum/viewtopi ... 69&t=32242

Here they use Homebridge to communicate with Google Home.
It had nothing to do with Homekit.

As it is stated (in Dutch):

De ATAG One Zone is compatibel met Apple Homekit en Amazon Alexa. Snel worden Google Home toegevoegd. Andere systemen worden voorlopig niet (direct) ondersteund. Wel kan je altijd kijken of jouw specifieke systeem één van de eerdergenoemde systemen ondersteund, waarmee indirect veel te verbinden is.

The last line made me make that suggestion.

I read also that this Atag Zone One can be controlled by the Atag One app.
This app is the same as the app used for the Atag One thermostat.

Did you already test something?

Where did you read that? I installed the Atag One app on my iPhone too, but I had to make an extra account on the Atag One website and with that account I couldn't control the Atag. But then again, the app isn't the issue, the thermostat (hardware) is the issue, this needs to be read somehow.

I have tests the plugin for the Atag One, I've tested some scripts for the Atag One, nothing.

There is a website on which I can logon: http://my.atag.zone and when I do so, I can see all readings from my thermostat:
Schermafbeelding 2020-05-09 om 21.52.26.png
Schermafbeelding 2020-05-09 om 21.52.26.png (140.92 KiB) Viewed 5143 times
(yes, it was a hot day.....)

So maybe there is a way to get the readings from this website (directly from the thermostat seems a better way, but I'm only guessing...)

Hi,

@mvveelen

I made that conclusion, because of two facts:

1. In the Google Play Store, I see one app (Atag One) made by Atag.
The Atag zone is made by Ariston Thermo SpA. Third party?

2. https://www.atagverwarming.nl/ondersteu ... -one-zone/
In this question: https://www.atagverwarming.nl/ondersteu ... -zone-app/
they talk about the Atag One.

So sorry, a wrong conclusion.

As you said you tested a number of things, but with the app you should be able to communicate.
Not the Atag One app, but Atag Zone One app.

In this case you communicate directly with the thermostat?

B.t.w. the Zone thermostat is already supported by Google Home, so you can already control it by Google Assistant.

No harm done :-)

Unfortunately the Atag One app keeps searching for the Atag One, not the Atag Zone One. So with the Atag One app I can't control the Atag boiler.

Maybe the website is something that could contribute to a solution?

Hi all,

I found a possible solution for my side. So I'm working with homeassisten and it is working for me to connect locally via homekit to the atag zone one boiler. Now I'm able to configure custom automations for example: leave the home -> switch heating temperature to 15 degrees

Steps to configure the connection between homeassisten / atag one zone

1) Take an IOS device (it's not possible with an android phone because the IOS Home App is a must have) and download & install the atag zone app
2) Configure the device like in the user manual: https://f.hubspotusercontent00.net/hubf ... uide-2.pdf
3) Start Home App on the Iphone
4) Click on "add device"
5) Click on "code is missing"
6) Click on the "Remote Atag" Device
7) Click: "open Camera" after that the HomeKit QR Code opens on the ATAG Zone Controller. Do not scan it with the IOS phone!
8) Open homeassitant: Configuration -> Integrations -> HomeKit Controller (should already detect the device)
9) Type in the 7 digits which are showing up above the QR Code into homeassistant.

Kind Regards

Good for you, but this is a Domoticz forum/topic. How can Domoticz users benefit from this?

1) I wanted to show a approach that there exists a possible solution to connect the atag zone to third party software.
2) Maybe you can find a working apple homekit integration for Domoticz and read data for your needs. Homekit Siri could be a possible solution after a quick google research.

The website for the Atag Zone One has been changed significantly, maybe there could be way to get this as native hardware in Domoticz? Willing to try/test of course.

Or, if someone managed to get the readings in Domoticz, share your findings ;)

It seems that ATAG still has not opened their API for the ATAG Zone. So an integration is not possible other than with Google Home or Amazon Alexa.

That's too bad. Unfortunately I'm not able to do this myself, so hopefully someone will try in the near future and describe what he/she has done in the Wiki. Thanks!
