backup produces empty file

If I select 'Backup' from the 'Backup/Restore Database' on the settings tab, I get prompted to download a file. However, the resulting file is empty.

I assume this isn't expected behaviour - what might be going wrong? Where is the database stored?

I'm running V2021.1 on Windows 10.
