Domoticz Security Panel disappeared from Devices list

Post by GerKortenbach »

Due to yet unknown reasons, the Domoticz Security Panel has disappeared from the list of devices. As a result, it has also disappeared from the Switches Tab and also from the Domoticz App. It is still present however under Setup -> More Options -> Security Panel.
Since I use the Domoticz Security Panel (mainly in the Domoticz App) on a daily basis for my simple alarm system, this is very awkward.
Can anyone please help me to get the Security Panel back in the list of Devices? I am using Domoticz on a Raspberry Pi.
Any help will be appreciated.

Regards,

Ger.

Could it be that you removed the password for the security panel in Settings?

Hi, @GerKortenbach

Just a question.

Did you recently upgrade, as in your profile, your version seems to be quite old?

I indeed think there are some issues with the Security Panel, as I tried to add the panel in my Test system (Pin code correctly inserted in the Settings page) but cannot find the panel. In my production system I see that the Security Panel has as hardware Domoticz Internal. However this hardware you cannot add.

This is the standard behavior. Security panel device will be created the first time it is armed using the security panel.
When you delete the device from the device tab, it will be recreated the next time it is armed again.

Thanks @waaren,

It is already a long time ago, but indeed I remembered I had something extra to do. ARMING.

I remembered it, when your post entered in the forum.

Thanks @AllesVanZelf

I did not remove the password for the security panel. In fact I did not change anything regarding the security panel. It has been working for a very long time, until yesterday when I suddenly could not find it anymore in the Domoticz App. When I started searching in Domoticz, I found that the security panel was missing. Only then I removed the password, saved the changes and re-entered the same password and saved the changes again. I also armed and disarmed the security panel. All of this did not bring the security panel back.

Hi @FireWizard,

I am indeed on a rather old version. The reason is that updating in different ways failed a number of times. I wanted to update both the Raspbian and Domoticz, of course one after the other. I made a number of backups before each try, so no harm was done. Every time my application was completely destroyed, but I could restore from the backups.
The only solution remaining seems to be to make a clean install from scratch and do all the configuration manually, which is a tremendous job.
I also want to upgrade the hardware from RPI 2B to RPI 3B+. Hopefully I can move the Domoticz database to the new installation. But if this will include all configuration??? And if this will work from the existing version to the new version???

Hi, @AllesVanZelf, @FireWizard
After numerous attempts to get the Domoticz Security Panel back, there is at last success. I have done the procedure to get the Security Panel back (removing and re-entering the password, activate and de-activate the Security Panel) many times. Most of the times there was no success. One last effort must have been successful, since the Security Panel is now again in the list of devices, so it could be added again. As a result, it is also back under the Switches Tab and in the Domoticz App. A quick test shows that it is also working as it should. Unfortunately I do not know which attempt brought the Security Panel back, since it was a lot of trial and error. Most important is that it is operating again.

Thanks for the help.

Regards,
Ger.
