Woox introducing new Zigbee devices in Europe
Please do not shoot the messenger. Delete if against forum rules. I have no interest in the company Woox.
Zigbee devices getting more popular and reasable priced devices are mostly to be sourced from China. Woox (Netherlands based) is now introducing 17 zigbee devices and kits (looks like branded Tuya devices) in Europe for reasonable prices in july 2020. Around 20-25 euro per item.

Re: Woox introducing new Zigbee devices in Europe
Just for info: I successfully integrated the Woox R7060 Smart Garden Irrigation Control devices into domoticz.
I found somewhere on the internet that Woox uses the Tuya hardware. Hence the Tuya plugin
https://github.com/Xenomes/Domoticz-TUYA-Plugin
can be used for these Irrigation devices. Use the Tuya app rather than the Woox app to set everything up. That is it.

@JeroenL
I'm trying to get the same setup that you have. I have a Rapsberry Pi running Domoticz for several light switches, and now I want to buy this Woox irrigation system. Any tips how to integrate the Zigbee protocol on the Raspberry PI? Is it additional hardware, if so, which one?
Online I found all kinds of usb-sticks and GPIO boards, but not sure which way to go.
Thanks in advance.

Hi Tescione,
I bought the WOOX R7070 ZigBee Gateway hub (25€) together with 3 irrigation valves.
In the tuya app, first set-up the above gateway and then add the 3 valves. If you want to use the app as well, you need a firmware upgrade for the gateway, perhaps good to do anyway.
FYI: I had an electricity rupture on the gateway, and it did not reconnect automatically to the valves. After activating the valves manually one-by-one it worked again as before.
Did not have the time yet to investigate further, but could annoying if not at home.
Also I bought a Zigbee2MQTT stick, but have not yet tried if it works. Reason is that I am rather not dependent on external server for my sprinklers. If the tuya server would be down...
future project, for now it works

And in the Tuya app:

Hi JeroenL, thanks for you extensive reply!
I think I will will buy the same hub as you have. And if I understand you correctly, the Tuya plugin in Domotics is able to "talk" with this hub?
And the final question. Do you recommend this system, in other words, ar you happy with you decision? I see a lot of other devices and apps (Gardena for instance) but I think this is the only one that actually integrates into Domoticz.

Re: Woox introducing new Zigbee devices in Europe
Hi,
Indeed the plugin talks without problems to the hub and is also bi-directional, meaning if you switch manually, or via the app, domoticz also picks it up.
No need the connect the gateway to the Pi, just put it somewhere and via the App you configure WiFi access.
I have been looking at several options for a while, but there is not a lot of choice if you want to go wireless. A 24V cable with valve would be the most reliable, but I am a bit reluctant to do so as in my situation is quite a bit of work to pull a cable.
Also looked at the Gardena system, first of all it is very expensive. It is far cheaper to use a simple battery device and pay for the extra water. For the price of a complete Gardena system, one has to save a lot of water!
Secondly I could not find any information whether it would work with domoticz via for instance rfxcom. There is a plugin for home-assistant, so porting it to domoticz should be feasible I think.
I have the Woox valves now for 2 months, and it works reliably. Two challenges I had:
PS. With a humidity sensor and weather plugin you can do interesting things now. These work with rfxcom: https://www.plantcaretools.com/en/produ ... re-sensor/

- The range of the hub. I have two valves in the back garden, in the front, finding a location in the house from where the hub reaches both was a bit of a trial-and-error. If you go through many walls / floors it is quickly a challenge. [ 3 walls, max 10-15m range I estimate]. A second hub -- they are cheap -- is apparently not supported by Tuya so that would have been an easy solution
- And as mentioned in previous post, the power outage. It looks like the valves do not reconnect, could also be a battery saving mode, and I should have waited longer

Re: Woox introducing new Zigbee devices in Europe
Hi,
Thanks again, I think the hub is the easiest way forward indeed. I will buy the Woox when it's back in stock and let you know how it works out.
I don't think in my scenario the distance will be an issue, but we will see. For now I can continue planning/placing the actual irrigation tubes.
Those addons for humudity look good, and probably will be on the shopping list.
Thanks!

Re: Woox introducing new Zigbee devices in Europe
The Woox R7060 Smart Garden Irrigation Control devices can also be controlled with Conbee II Zigbee stick.
It works well in my Zigbee network which now consists of three of these valves and four LEDVANCE smart+ plugs.
I will, migrate over time, the klik aan / uit plugs with the LEDVANCE smart+ plugs

Re: Woox introducing new Zigbee devices in Europe
As RogerSch I'm migrating from KaKu to Zigbee and I was wondering why there is an issue with the range.
As far as I read somewhere, Zigbee supports a mesh where there is one controller and optionally several routers which are capable of forwarding the commands and signals. So the range issue should be solvable by introducing something like a smart switch or something in between the valves in the back garden and the controller.

Re: Woox introducing new Zigbee devices in Europe
Hi - thanks,
You are right, as my whole system is on zwave, I just used the 3 battery operated valves, and they do not form a mesh to save battery power.
Considering a router, extra device just to close the gap.
Today the system works good, but not 100% reliable, sometimes a command does not arrive, mostly annoying when your sprinkler does not get switched off.
Made a few extra lines in my script to give a few additional off commands.
