Open Weather Map not working since 2021.1 upgrade

Post by f14driver »

Hi,

Maybe sombody already has a solution for this, my OWM isn't recieiving any updates on it's sensor since the upgrade to version 2021.1
The worker can be started and stopped without errors, it logs that the worker is started but the sensors aren't updated at all.

Did someone else have the same issue and maybe even a solution for it ?
Lookiung forward to your input.

Sounds like a browser cache problem.
Try the instruction at https://www.domoticz.com/wiki/Browser_Cache
Most likely this will solve the problem.

Does not sound like a browser cache problem to me at all.
Beter increase logging and post those OWM results here.
My OWM is working fine.

Look at the logging and see if the OWM module is able to get the data for the given location. There have been significant changes to the OWM API’s and the module in Domoticz.

It isn’t a cache problem. I upgraded 14 Pi’s without a hitch.
This one has the sole function of being a virtual weather station and UPS monitor.

Only notificaties I get is the mention that the location is found ( Amsterdam, NL).
If I put in the exact location based on longitude and lattitude it also confirms the location.

There are no errros in the logging but measurements for all devices are not coming in.
Worked fine under the 2020.1 stable version.

It still might be an idea to increase loglevel to debug. You will see more and might identify what the cause is.

Fixed by recreating the OWM Hardware and devices on a different Raspberry Pi, all readings are coming in correctly now.
Thanks for the advice, the devices dind't report anything on the old Pi.
Statistics are gone off course but that wasn't the main concern.
Reused the API key form the old station and all is running without errors now.

@f14driver , did you have ‘enable adding new devices’ turned on (on your old Pi)? Might be that the OWM module wanted to create some additional devices which it could not do and therefor also not updated the existing ones?

@kiddigital, yes that was enabled, devices were present but didn't reveive any updates. Also no entries came into the logging.
After recreation it worked fine, I wanted to move the weatherstation at some point in the future but have expidited that now :D

Thanks for the advice.

Hi, the problem is that after the 2021.1 upgrade, the OWM Devices you have used before are no more used by Domoticz/OWM Add-On. Maybe the upgrade changes some modifications about the Add-On.

The problem is easily fixed - just delete/ignore the previously used devices. Then go to to Setup-Devices, sort them by ID and you will find some new OWM Devices, which are correctly working and are updating, you just need to hit the green arrow next to them, to add them to your UI.

Same problem after updating from a half year old beta version to most recent.
I fixed it by selecting the open weather hardware and click 'update'.

I need to build a script that checks for last update, or last change in temperature, since it wasn't the first time that I made a wrong decision by acting on outdated outside temperature.
