SolarEgde web API

Post by Jussi1112 »

Recently I've installed my Raspberry with a fresh image and installed Domoticz with the latest version. I'm able to add SolarEdge hardware, but there doesn't appear any devices.

- Wget https://monitoringapi.solaredge.com/sit ... y=<API-key> on the Raspberry give me the information about my SolarEdge installation, so I'm really sure it is the right API key.
- In Domoticz I've used the hardware "SolarEdge via web API", give it a name, and put in only the API key.
- Using the API from Darksky works without any problems. Also, my P1 meter hardware function fine.
- I've changed the API in the SolarEdge portal
- Rebooted the Raspberry several times

Does anyone have a suggestion to let this API works? In the past, it working without any problems.

I see you are posting this question in the evening. Could it be that your PV system wasn't producing at the time you added it to Domoticz? If so, wait until tomorrow. Once your PV system starts producing, you should see numbers appearing on your dashboard.

Thanks you Alain for your reply. But I'm struggling already a couple of days with it. And the next day the devices don't appear.

Did you enable "Accept new hardware devices" in the System settings page for a while?

Yes, "accept new hardware devices" is enabled. And I've several times activated "accept new hardware for a while". Thanks

I am using this SolarEdge web API for years now.
Most of the time (99%) it is working fine.
Lately I have a lot of errors, see https://www.domoticz.com/forum/viewtopi ... 8&p=251281
It looks like the site is giving a lot of 504 errors.

You will indeed not see this value in the devices list

If you add the button as used in your menu, you will see the current value (at least in my setup.....)

Extract same problem with new setup - no devices. API key works directly fine. No devices no matter how long I wait. No clues in log file.

It is a 3 Phase Invertor - could this be relevant?

For me the issue was that I had not set my location or that dzEvents were not enabled. After setting this and enabling the events, it worked for me.

I followed instructions to the best of my knowledge and I still don't see SolarEdge hardware in the list.
I'm using the API and I can use my power consumption and, how much the solar panels are producing (if producing more than consumption).

What am I missing?

Thank you

@Mistysnip I had the same problem but the solution from "goudgele" also did it for me:

Setup --> settings, on the "system" tab you have an option "Location" give your address in the location finder so it is populated with your coordinates.
Then just wait till you solar panels get some sun and create power.

edit:
Don't ask me why it was needed but seems to be a bug? It didn't poll until these location settings were set.

In the past 2 days Domoticz is not showing the kWh anymore.
Anyone else getting this result?
