Adding my Westinghouse-fan to Domoticz

Post by EdwinK »

I've asked this before, in the projects board, but that didn't get any answer. Maybe not many people look in there. I don't know, but here I go:

I've got a Westinghouse fan with a RF controller (77841B remote) and a RFXcom.com transciever. I want to control this fan from within Domoticz but no matter what I put in the fields, I can't get it to work.

Some time ago I connected the RFXcom transciever to my Windowslaptop, and noticed this:
11-2-2021 12:36:43:241= Fan command: 08 17 04 0F 00 00 01 02 00
================================================
Packettype = Fan
subtype = Westinghouse
subtype = Westinghouse
Sequence nbr = 15
ID = SW1=Off, SW2=Off, SW3=Off, SW4=On
Command = MED
Signal level = +10 dBm
------------------------------------------------
11-2-2021 12:36:43:718= 0402010F00
Packettype = Receiver/Transmitter Message
subtype = Transmitter Response
Sequence nbr = 15
response = ACK, data correct transmitted
If needed I can try and attach the RFXcom to the laptop again to test things out, but I hope that we can have the fan working before long.

Hook up your RFXcom receiver to domoticz and make sure it works.

Use the hardware settings screen of the RFXcom to activate all the needed protocols.

Make sure you have ‘add new devices’ enabled in the settings of Domoticz.

Look at the Devices tab if any new devices appear coming from the RFXcom. Use your fan remote to toggle the fan a few times.

Keep an eye on the Domoticz log the see what is happening in the background.

Good luck.
