Hi all,
Some people have some difficulty to get a camera live feed on the Aurora dashboard working. It took me some time to figure it out (I'm not the brightest person in the world...) and I would like to share. Simply follow the instructions below step by step. Here we go.
Prerequisites:
- Domoticz V4.9700
- Functional camera interaction within Domoticz
Adding a camera on the Domoticz Dashboard (Domoticz V4.9700)
1. Install Aurora theme (https://www.domoticz.com/wiki/Aurora_Theme)
2. Select the Aurora theme. Setup -> Settings -> System -> User Interface -> Theme: aurora -> press the "Apply settings" button.
3. Note the extra "Theme" button in the Settings menu. Go there and select under "Dashboard options"
"Camera previews on the dashboard" -> Press the "Apply settings" button.
4. Go to Setup -> Hardware and create a virtual sensor (Type -> Dummy) and give the dummy an appropriate name (i.e. Front Cam) -> Add
5. On the same Hardware page select the the created dummy and click on "Create Virtual Sensors". Give the sensor
a name. It's ok to name the sensor the same as the dummy name (i.e. Front Cam). Sensor Type: Switch -> Ok
6. Go to Setup -> Cameras. Select the required camera. At the bottom select in the pull-down menu "Device/Scene" the dummy device.
In this case "[Light/Switch] Front Cam" -> Add.
7. Go to the Switches menu. The "Front Cam" should be there. Add the switch to the Dashboard (press the top left star, it should turn yellow).
8. Go to the Dashboard and make sure the Front cam icon is on the top row.
When all is ok you should see a live feed of the camera in the "Front cam" icon.
Some notes: I don't know why the live feed icon needs to be at the top row. Could be by design.
The update rate of the image is every 20 seconds. So it's not an actual live feed.
Have fun!

Re: Camera on the dashboard how to
Hi,
I have followed these steps and actually have a "camera" switch in my dashboard. When I click the actual ipcam picture I do get live videostream, though no preview image(s) in my dashboard icon itself. Yes, I did switch the "Camera previews on the dashboard"-box in settings.
Additionally, I also do not get any data visualisations in my dashboard icons.
I'm on latest Domoticz (11995) on a RaspBerry PI.
I'm using Mozilla Firefox and have cleared the full cache (other browser give me same unsuccesfull results).
Thanks for any help.
