OTGW users here on the forum

Post by CaptainSlow »

Hello,..is there still someone using the OTGW on this forum. It appears to be a dead subject to talk about here or is it just me.

Yes, the otgw is my connection between svt (software thermostat) and the boiler. I can also follow the temperature of the solar boiler.
It just works, no need to talk about it anymore ;-)

Thx for the response...running fine for me as well but still have a few questions regarding the CV itself. Especially regarding the ideal heating curve or "stooklijn" as its called in dutch. Im using the outside temp from the buienradar in domoticz using my local latitude and longtitude and feed that back to the OTGW allowing to run a program in the Isense thermostat depending on the outside temp as well. They say the heating is more efficient using the outside temp as well.
Anybody here some experience with it?

Sorry can't help you with a "stooklijn" that seems to be automagicly working...

I kicked the iSense thermostat within a week because I did not like the way it was working.
Replaced it with a Plugwise Anna Thermostat and a Plugwise Smile unit.
So now I have

Boiler (Remeha Tzerra) - OTGW - Smile/Anna

Timed program is running on the Anna

OTGW and Smile/Anna connected to domoticz

outside temperature in OTGW from my own PWS

I have installed the svt plugin in domoticz and manipulate the setpoint of the iSense with a script in order to control the boiler.

The result is an awesome correct control of my room temperature, even while I only have door heating, which is very slow in reacting (1 degree/hour increase)
SVT is shining a very good job, much better than the original iSense control ever did

Hello Jake,..i'm thinking about that myself. I'm only a little bit scared about the fact that my heating system would then be dependent on raspberry PI running control setpoint scripts. If I'm at home ok...but when I'm away.....well...you know what I mean. I will give it a go an play with it.
any tips on how to configure it?

I think it is very healthy to be scared of that. Therefore I think that manipulating a setpoint is much better than manipulating the boiler itself.

First step is to limit the max temperature in your script to prevent a 'run away'.

I simply increase the setpoint when heating is needed according SVT and reduce it below the actual room temperature when the SVT boiler switch is off
