changing hardwaretype

Post by eddieb »

Hi,
I want to relocate my RPI with domoticz closer to my p1meter.
I am running p1meter over a network relay now thru "P1 Smart Meter with LAN interface" which is type 5 in the domoticz.db.
I want to change it to "P1 Smart Meter USB" to connect the usb cable directly to my RPI.
Can I change the type in domoticz or do I need to change the record in the database ?
Where can I find the hardwaretype id for "P1 Smart Meter USB" ?
RPI4 Beta / Tasmota / ZigBee2MQTT / P1meter / Haier AC MQTTmapper / SolarEdge SE3500H modbus_tcp / Marstek Venus / Opentherm gateway / Plugwise Anna/Smile / ObserverIP weatherstation thru WuDirect

Don't know where to find it but it is 4.
As far as I know there is no defined process for changing a hardware type of devices so you will have to experiment (after ensuring you have a working and tested backup)
Debian buster, bullseye on RPI-4, Intel NUC.
dz Beta, Z-Wave, RFLink, RFXtrx433e, P1, Youless, Hue, Yeelight, Xiaomi, MQTT

It worked ...

- made extra backup of the .db
- moved p1 usb cable to domoticz rpi
- changed the hardware type in domoticz
changed the speed to 115200
- rebooted

no history lost ;-)
