Fibaro dimmer & Led lamp - Brownout error message

Post by rgroothuis »

I've a new LED lamp (5x 3 watt) and I've installed a Fibaro Dimmer 2 to control these LED lamps. When I try to calibrate or when I switch on the device I see the following error message in the Domoticz log:

Code: Select all

OpenZWave: Alarm received (Power Management: Brownout Detected), NodeID: 16 (0x10)
What does this mean? Any suggestion? And how can this be fixed?

Thanks.

Hi,

Did you get this sovled? I have added a new Fibaro 2 Dimmer to control 1 LED Lamp of 7W. Get the same error:
Status: OpenZWave: Alarm received (Power Management: Brownout Detected), NodeID: 15 (0x0f)
Could this be related to the load being to low? Have ordered the Fibaro Bypass 2, but will arrive today. Light kept on switching on and off, event was triggered by an Blocky script.

Thanks,
Bernard

I have 2 LED lamps installed in the house. On one I installed the bypass as well I used a 3 wire setup. With this setup I was able to dim the LED's and the problem was solved.
The other LED lamp, I tried the same setup but I'm not able to dim the led's, this is really strange. For now I've given up, will look into this problem later.

What color is the light on the dimmer?
Mine was red for quite some while - which indicates that calibration failed.
I used the "b" button on the dimmer to try calibrating again, this time it was green.

Then in Domoticz you have settings 1 and 2 for brightness levels, take note of setting no2.
Also in the Fibaro manual they say

"
Voltage drop error suggests that parameter 2 value should be reduced until disappearing of the failure. You can also recalibrate the
load using parameter 13.
"

Mine was set during calibration on 70%, after I lowered it to 60 through setting 2 the light was working as it should.
You might have to try different levels on setting 2 and play around a little bit.

Good luck!
