Setting Domoticz app
Hi,
I used the Domoticz lite app for a while to see if this is something for me. The lite version worked perfectly and therefore I bought the paid version. Now I can no longer see my data. I run everything on a synology nas server and have the ports open on my router. What are the settings I have to enter in the app. Where can I find the correct server name and server address? use https with xxxx as the port number. username and password are the same as with the web version, which i get to without any problem. What am I doing wrong?

Re: Setting Domoticz app
Http is by default port 8080.
Https is by default 443.
Could that do the trick?

Re: Setting Domoticz app
Hi,
in the app I have to fill in the following:
Servername: I don't know what I need to fill in?
Serveradres: I use my Synology NAS, so I fill in xxxx.synology.xx:xxxx (is same as webinterface)
HTTP / HTTPS: 8080 / 443
Username: xxxxx (same as webinterface)
Password: xxxxx (same as webinterface)
What do i need to fill in for Servername. If I fill the name of my server it doesn't work.

Re: Setting Domoticz app
I just use DEFAULT as the server name
Re: Setting Domoticz app
Also, please be aware that when you use the external IP address or your (Synology) domain, your router/firewall could block this. It's a bit technical but basically your external IP address is binded to the router, not your Synology.
To test this, switch to 4G and try again...
When your are connected to your home network, try the direct internal IP address of your Domoticz. For example the 192.168.*.* IP address.

Re: Setting Domoticz app
When I try to connect from a pc at other place then home I use xxxx.synology.xxx:xxxx
This works perfectly.
So my connection is not blocked.
When I try the same on my phone also no problem but when I try this with the app I get no connection.
Unhandled error is the message.
When I remove the xxx behind : it is trying to connect but nothing happens.

Would you want to make a screenshot and send it to my with a private message? Perhaps I can figure it out.
Second, try to connect with your public IP address instead of the Synology DNS name. Just to be sure...

Glad you got it working again!
Your solution would suggest that the default port(s) are already being used. Out of curiosity, do you have any other (web)services or plugins active that could be using this port(s)?

Re: Setting Domoticz app
I think the Domoticz lite app was still somehow active and used the ports. I had Domoticz lite installed on several systems. I removed the ports from my router. It's only a pitty that if my wife wants to use the app she need to buy the app to.

Re: Setting Domoticz app
I understand what you are saying, but imho the price is reasonable. Especially given that it's a one time fee and the app continues to be actively developed and updated. The app also provides geo capabilities that you can use to program events. For example, I know when my wife or myself is home and lights switch on automatically in the evening accordingly...
But you also use the chrome browser on your phone and access it directly. Chrome remembers the login and works just as good. You can even make a shortcut on the homescreen for her

Re: Setting Domoticz app
Ill joint this existing topic....similar problem
Last week my app (Android ), Stopped to work. Was bizarre, cause my wife's phone was fine. I had no access into app, but notification keep coming. I updated app and I was offline completely.
I checked the forum and realize I need to update no new Domoticz on my server, did it and was Offline. So I made new install on buster but
App is working now, but I cant connect via https (Im running on port 2000, but I have controlicz on same port too, maybe has conflict, Ill try to change it). What I cant get to work - even not on home network are notifications from app. Is there any catch or some change?
My domoticz has been working over one year all alone (with Monit supervision)
so my update was from older version.
Thanks for any help

If you are using android and google play store. Do you know that the paid version of the domoitcz app is in the Google Play Family Library. So family members can share your paid version.Kawasakiman wrote: ↑Saturday 09 May 2020 14:39 I think the Domoticz lite app was still somehow active and used the ports. Domoticz 2020.1 (12230) on Raspberry Pi 3B with Raspian Buster. Besides Domoticz, Rpi is running Pi-Hole.
