As an Android user, very unhappy with Apple who are going to kill the Android app in a few months, and stop API usage next year.
What alternatives do we have? Just tried AccuWeather, but after setting it up nothing seemed to happen?

I too am an Android user and it was the best, most accurate app that I have tried, and I've tried a lot.

Speaking of weather, what is the location format (lat-long) for the Accuweather virtual device?

If your configuration has a PWS with capability of uploading meteodata to an organisation, PWSWeather may be an alternative for the Darksky API.
They have the AerisWeather Contributor Plan | PWSWeather
