I am busy migrating my Domoticz setup from my RPi3B+ (Rasbian Stretch, Domoticz 4.11648) to a new RPi4B (Raspbian Buster, Domoticz 4.11780). By backing up the database on the old machine, restoring it on the new machine and making some manual adjustments, the migration was fairly painless for all my WiFi, Zigbee and 433MHz devices, but not for Zwave.
The Zwave hardware (an Aeon 5 Gen stick) is seen on the new machine, but the Nodelist remains completely empty. Not even the Controller shows up there. This is what should be in it (from the old machine):
(Note: the repeater is not plugged in now).
I tried copying the ozwcp*.* files from the domoticz folder onto the new machine, but that does not help. Should I copy something else manually? How to proceed?
Migrating Zwave settings, can it be done? Topic is solved

I now see in the logs: 2020-03-11 18:03:51.005 Error: OpenZWave: Driver Failed!!
Tried sudo ./updatebeta
But the problem remains. I realize the OpenZWave driver is part of the Domoticz package, so can I fix this?

There is a known problem with Aeotec Gen 5 stick and Rpi4. See https://github.com/raspberrypi/linux/issues/3027 A solution is to use an USB 2.0 hub between Rpi4 and Zwave stick. You should recover your zwave conf.

Re: Migrating Zwave settings, can it be done?
I had a cheap (€ 2) Action hub lying around and put that in between the RPi4 and the Aeon Zwave stick. The device /tty/ACM0 was created and could be linked to the stick.
If I remove the hub and put in the stick directly, the ACM0 port dissapears again and the stick is not connected to any serial port anymore.
If I leave the hub in place, all nodes are recognized. But I do not get any updates of the linked sensors (a bunch of door- and PIR sensors) at all...
I am starting to think I should go back to the RPi3B+

So what do you mean? No USB 2.0 hub needed for the zwave usb to work?Zeirdo wrote:just did upgrade to newest packages and new domoticz beta, solved!
