Apply Z-Wave configuration changes
Every time I add a new device I obviously want to configure it to my needs.
However, every time I update the settings, they revert back to the default value. For example the "on time" of a motion sensor or the number of lux it should differ before the lux is reported. And I think I wait long enough... I can change it today and check the next day.... everything is back to the default!
How can I update settings of Z-Wave devices better? What is causing these values not to be updated?

Re: Apply Z-Wave configuration changes
You have to wake the devices. Settings are only then applied.

Sounds logical…. how do I wake them? :S

Look in the manual of the device. Fibaro is mostly a triple click. Danfoss is just a single click on the middle button. Depends on the device.

Ah... ok, you do it from the physical device. So, basically what you need to do to include them.
Then I can change the wakeup intervall as well
Thanks!

Apply the configuration and instantly after that wake the device. Waking isn’t always the same as inclusion, consult the manual of the device for it. Or name the device here, maybe someone will know.

Re: Apply Z-Wave configuration changes
Oops... I've been trying the other way around. Tried to wake the device and then apply the changes
New attempt tomorrow.
Unfortunately, my two older Aeotec gen 5 multi sensors don't seem to respond at all anymore. That happens sometimes.... But this time around it is taking pretty long!

Re: Apply Z-Wave configuration changes
Yes, for the two new Neo Coolcam multi sensors I managed to do this.
I was able to set the values, push the button one time and after retrieving the values from the server once more they had been changed.
I've set the Wake-up Interval to 900 seconds. So, I would assume that is the same wake up as I triggered by pushing the button, right? That would mean: after doing the changes now, if I apply changes the next time, they will be applied somewhere in the next 900 seconds or so.

Re: Apply Z-Wave configuration changes
Correct, but it'll take more battery usage. Normally you should only set the parameters once and then set the wake up interval as long as possible.

Re: Apply Z-Wave configuration changes
Thank you! I'll have to figure out what the wake command is for each and every different device I have. And indeed, for the Neo Coolcam multi sensors for example the wake command is different from the inclusion command.
And battery life....well... I use as many rechargeable batteries as possible. Interesting with this is, that for the Danfoss heating thingies is that they claim you cannot use rechargeable batteries.
Communication between Z-Wave devices, controller and displaying that in Domoticz could be better I think. If you wake a device for example, it often still shows to be asleep in Domoticz. And if you have a device in the list of Z-Wave devices on the hardware tab and it shows last seen recently, it may show as not seen for a long time in the Devices tab.
For example:
086 (0x56)
Garage
FIBARO System FGSS101 Smoke Sensor
FIBARO System
0x1000
0x0c00

Nee
Shows this in the Devices tab:
484
Aeon USB
00005628
1
Rookmelder garage General
Light/Switch
Switch
On
