Hi,
I searched but can't find how Timerplan works!?!
I created two timerplans, but I can't understand how to relate the timers to a certain timerplan or how to enable a specific timerplan
Is there anyone who knows how does it work?
It's not exactly clear what the intention of "Timer Plans" is, but I think this is how it's supposed to be used:
Select the Timer Plan you wish to use in Setup -> Settings -> Other -> Timer Plan, Apply Settings (red button).
Then set the Timers on your Devices. Switches -> Switchname -> Timers button.
While the Timer Plan you have selected in Settings stays the same, the Timers you set on your switches will persist.
To switch to another timer plan, create a new Timer Plan in Setup -> More Options -> Plans -> Timer Plan. This new plan name will show up in Settings.
Now select the new Timer Plan you wish to use in Setup -> Settings -> Other -> Timer Plan, Apply Settings (red button).
Now all the Timers on your switches will be blank and ready for new settings for the new Timer Plan.
When you wish to change back to your old Timers, select the first Timer Plan in Settings -> Other -> Timer Plan, and Apply Settings.
Edit: I will be updating documentation in coming months, and this is on the list to update.
Hi Mack,
great: it works exactly as you described!
What I hadn't figured out was the need to select the desired timerplan in the settings panel.
Thank you very much!
Best
Thanks to this post I learned how to use timer plans.
Setup->More Options->Plans->Timer Plans : create Default and Holiday plans here (initially the list was empty on older/upgraded Domoticz which I upgraded today to latest beta V4.11316
Then in Setting->Other you can choose the active timer plan.
Once you change plan you'll have to redo every timer you ever set for the new plan, i.e. all timers appear empty (if you switch back to e.g. Default plan you'll see your timers as set for Default, if you switch to Holiday you see your timers for Holiday plan).
It would be very helpful if the timer configuration page shows the active timer plan as a drop-down and you can see timers for each timer plan! Also copy a timer setup to another plan option would really help, if you have many timers set it's a lot of work to copy those to a new plan, compare/sync timers is close to impossible as you'd have to go to settings to change the plan each time.
E.g. copy all timers from plan A to B would be a great feature on the settings page. Also when you create a new plan an option to 'copy timers from Default plan' would be helpful.
Typically I'd like the timer to switch the garden lights the same in Default and Holiday plan, but during Holiday plan setup some additional timers to switch the lights in the living room and kitchen to simulate some presence (I think a very common scenario for many).
When I setup the Holiday plan I find that there are no timers for the garden set at all and need to re-do all those standard daily timers that I'd like to keep running during holidays.

I am using V4.10717 and don't see the option Setup, More Options, Plans.. Is your suggestion for Beta versions or did I miss something?

As you can see where you quoted my original message, it was from October 2017. My V4.10717 today still looks exactly the same as back then, however!
For sure it works with beta, but I ran with release version I used for a while.
From my side, I was wondering if there is a way to set a timer plan for a specific room. Any clues or inputs?

1.
Not exactly, but you can create different timerplans, so you can differentiate a bit over there. (e.g. diff plans including or exluding rooms)
This enables you to enable timers or disable times, and thus makes it possible using switches or scripts to activate timers very dynamical.
Its a bit of a puzzle but doable
Rpi & Win x64. Using : cam's,RFXCom, LaCrosse, RFY, HuE, google, standard Lua, Tasker, Waze traveltime, NLAlert&grip2+,curtains, vacuum, audioreceiver, smart-heating&cooling + many more (= automate all repetitive simple tasks)

Hi, regarding item 1. I fully agree with you, but as you said it's a bit of puzzle... Not really user friendly as including or excluding a room requires duplication of the rooms schedule, hassle...
thats where 2 kicks in, it creates the possibility to explore the borders of what is possible
By calling a json url you can create anything from lua or dzevent....

When i make a copy of the default timer plan to another (holiday) timer plan, the timers from the default timer plan are not copied into the other plan.
Thus the new plan doesn't have a single timer, how is this possible of am i doing something wrong?
The default timer plan has several timers.
