Silvercrest Wireless Socket (Lidl)

Post by alanf »

I bought a pack of four of these RF remotely switched sockets recently from Lidl. Four sockets and a remote control, IAN 322055 is the reference number. Setting up, the remote control buttons for ON and OFF for each of sockets A, B. C and D are learnt by each socket. The operation leaflet describes grouping sockets or controls as needed.

Trying them with Domoticz (4.10717)/RFLink (r48) the 433MHz RF was clearly recognised, but the Learn function didn't create a switch that could operate the sockets. Investigating the remote commands with RFLinkloader they appear as a "Unitec" device:

20;0D;Unitec;ID=9999;SWITCH=01;CMD=ON;
20;0E;Unitec;ID=9999;SWITCH=01;CMD=OFF;

And the sockets do respond to direct commands via the RFlink such as:

10;Unitec;9999;01;ON;
10;Unitec;9999;01;OFF;
10;Unitec;9999;02;ON;
10;Unitec;9999;02;OFF;

Back in Domoticz, using the button "Create RFLink Devices" on Setup/Hardware allows these signals (as in the RFLink FAQ for "manual commands") to be entered for each socket as a new device. These can then be edited to the "Used" list with a suitable name and icon later from the Setup/Devices list.

One quirk to watch out for is that every time a socket is plugged in it goes into in learning mode for 30 seconds. Sending commands at this time, each socket can "learn" commands for several other sockets that you didn't intend it to respond to. Since the operation leaflet says it can learn 6 commands, Domoticz should be able to fill the memory with dummy commands to prevent it learning more.

These are cheap sockets off the shelf that can be scheduled in Domoticz for non-critical uses such as xmas lights or turning on a lamp or two for security when you're out. The usual downsides apply for 433MHz devices; signals are sent without Domoticz knowing whether the socket is plugged in or if it responds.
