Hello everyone. I'm running domoticz on a raspberry pi since around 1 year.
Today, it crashed again for the sixth time and I'm really fed up to configure everything once again ...
Do you have a better solution than using a raspberry pi for domoticz ?
Thanks.

There are a number of alternatives. NUC, Desktop, Synology to name a few. They all have in common that they are much more expensive then the PI solution.johnny1118 wrote: ↑Wednesday 20 November 2019 9:54 Hello everyone. I'm running domoticz on a raspberry pi since around 1 year.

The Raspberry pi itself is quite stable. The issues reported are mostly about corrupted SD cards, insufficient / unstable power from adapters and software (including OS modules) incompatibility.
What is causing your crashes ?
Debian buster, bullseye on RPI-4, Intel NUC.

I'm running Domoticz virtualized in Proxmox on a Intel Nuc.
Since the move from a Pi to that I hadn't had a single issue. The system is rock solid and lightning fast.
Virtualizing also gives the advantage of easy full system backups. If my Nuc dies I could easily boot a laptop with Proxmox and restore the image as temp solution.

I agree with NUC. The entry-level Celeron one is more than enough for Domoticz and not that expensive. By the time you get a case and PSU for a Pi it also adds up. Advantage is a real SSD instead of SD and also you can run a real OS like Ubuntu instead of e.g. Synology which has a very basic stripped Linux.
