Heating control software development

Post by bigdazza18 »

Hi all,

I am currently writing my own Windows service to interact with the Domoticz API and control my heating. I couldn't find any plugins which met my requirements so have started writing software from scratch.

Besides the obvious turning the heat on and off control what functionality do you think that I should build in? For example if the boiler is running for too long the controller will send an alert via Domoticz

I am happy to start a Github page and share the code if any users of this forum feel they might benefit from using it?

Thanks.

Why are you implementing something like that as a Windows service, and not as a Domoticz script?
Raspberry Pi 4 - RFXtrx433 - CC2531 Zigbee - Opentherm Gateway - P1 smart meter - Netatmo - Philips Hue - ELV Max! - ESP8266 DIY water meter - 6 x Sonos - 4 x IP cameras - Wall mounted tablet + Dashticz - Google Home integration - MANY switches/sensors

In a heating control system inputs from sensors are used to control valve and heating components official website – including electric radiators of gas furnaces – to regulate temperature in the different rooms in a house or commercial building.
