[Xiaomi] device updates stopped from gateway and missing devices

Post by twoenter »

Hi Guys,

Since last week my Xiaomi Gateway has some issues after working 2 months issue free.

Last friday I noticed my Aqara Motion Sensors did not update their status to domoticz anymore. I checked the Mi app and saw the correct lastupdate time. Tried to re-add the gateway to domoticz and the motion sensor appeared again in the devices list, but only the lux sensor. I have 3 motion sensors. The connection of the sensors seems OK, but after add the gateway to domoticz, domoticz never gets a status update. Why dissapearad the motion sensor switches and how do I get them back? And all the connected devices in domoticz are never get updates from the gateway since friday. What is wrong?

When I add the gateway to domoticz this is the log:

Code: Select all

Hi Guys,

Yes!! I solved the problem my own. This is what I did:

1. Deleted domoticz from my nas, after back up database
2. Reinstalled domoticz at my Synlogy DS216j with package from jahdal version 4.97.00 -7
3. Connected Xiaomi gateway to domoticz

Still not working, the same problems!

This was the log output:

So my guess: the problem is the gateway itself.

4. I openend the Mi Android App and removed the hub from the app.
5. Tried to reconnect the gateway automaticly but it failed.
6. Touched at add manually and it was connected again.
7. All my connected devices were back in the app, but still not in domoticz.
8. With everything still connected last try to reconnect the sensors.
9. Press the small button for 3 seconds at the Aqara Motion Sensor, the gateway responds something chinese.
10. Press add sensor in the app and press the button for 3 seconds again, the gateways does respond again.
11. The sensor is back in domoticz!!!

To be honest I think if you have the same problem you can start from step 4.

Good luck!

After plugging the gateway out the wall socket the connection was lost again.

This time I was able to reconnect by pressing the button on the gateway for 10 secs. The mi app shows all offline devices. Wait until the app finds the gateway again and reconnect. Domoticz and xiaomi are running fine and stable again.

I gave up trying to get it working stable,

Switched to zigate and all of the aqara sensors are working fine for a couple of months.

Do you also have xiaomi gateway problems? I advice to switch to zigate. It is easy to add it to domoticz. Use my tutorial :

I'm using 3 gateways, because of device limits and range, across my home and don't have any problems. For more than 2 years now.

How is the signal range of zigate?

You also could look at zigbee2mqtt
There you can make multi routers on 1 coordinator. This could extend your range, but also the device limits.

Like zigate, it is a DIY solution.
At the moment i only have 1 coordinator and 1 router, works without problems.

https://www.zigbee2mqtt.io/information/ ... twork.html

Code: Select all

The default CC2531 USB sniffer coordinator firmware has a limit of 20 direct children.
This means 1 coordinator + 20 end devices and 0 routers.
However by adding routers to your network you can overcome the limit of 20 devices.
This means that, e.g. a network of 1 coordinator, 4 routers and 50 end devices is possible.
Thin-client --> Docker Domoticz main environment
Pi3A+ --> Google home (GAssistPi)
Pi3B+ --> Docker (P1monitor, Domoticz test environment, Ubiquity controller)

Good, using it through the entire house and for the sensors at the attic I use a DIY cc2531 zigbee router. See my blog for instructions.

This can be a solution too. I did not get it working at my synology nas, so I choose for zigate.
