Eurotronik SpiritZ, some conclusions

Post by Solderbro »

Last autumn i bought my first Eurotronik SpiritZ, because their FLIR technology looked god, instant action is nice to have.

Meanwhile have 4 of them running, one died mechanical and was replaced by warranty. We have M&N valves with extreme spring pressure against the valve, so now after 3/4 year the first ones start to fail. The nodes fall into the 'dead' state while there was no battery warning before nor does the display show such warning. Measured the batteries were down to 1.4 Volts, while you can use them with the buttons the Z-Wave transfer seems to die.

Conclusions:
- Battery duration around a year looks okay
- More expensive batteries with 'industrial' or 'lithium' wont spread the duration
- Their drive is silent
- Domoticz can handle the display options (turn, light)

But they are also supported very low, i can only address the 'heat' setpoint to get action.

If someone have a nicer valve with 'boah' factor please report.
