I like the homewizard interface too, it's clean, pretty, and easy to use.
I am also looking at displaying all the app info a bit better. So far, all you see is the device name, but soon I would like to add its current information.

Right now I am working on group and room support, looking nice :D

I like it and have paid for the unlocked version already. Thank you!
I also like Home Wizard's interface and agree the on screen on/off buttons would be cleaner as would a kind of status screen.

Best regards

Would be great to have an iPad retina interface. Would be great either to have kind of tabs in order to structure the interface

Believe a found a bug :
When you use basic authentication and fill in the local networks to bypass authentication in your own network (i have 127.0.0.*;192.168.0.*), then the App is not working in the local network.
You have to switch off authentication when you're local and switch it on (and fill username password again) when out.
(I'm also using SSL, but i don't think that matters)

iPad version: midterm.
tabs: coming, with the possibility to filter by category (switch, scenes/groups, etc.), or by room.

Hello,

I installed the App on my iPhone an it works well at home. But I want to use it everywhere and not specially at my home. But the App doesn't accept my http://mydomain.no-ip.xxx ('Incorrect server name'). It's only able to type the IP-adress of my Domoticz-server in the LAN.

What is wrong? Can you explain it to me?

Thanx. Alex

Hi Alex,

Apparently no-ip domains don't work well with Pilot.
The upcoming release (1.2.0) will fix that very issue. Should be available on the AppStore this weekend.

Pilot: Home Automation Control (iOS app)

It imediately crashes on startup here. iPhone 5s 32gb.

Clean install crashes also.

Went back to 1.1 (still had that in iTunes) and upgraded, now it starts, but no settings retained. The inteoduction started.

In app purchase is not retained when closing the app and is not possible to restore.(after several tries it does restore)

Still dimmer value at switches like "keuken klein "

LanWolf,

Thanks for your feedback.
Very weird that in-app doesn't work well, since I didn't change it since the first app release.
As for clean install crash, I will do some more testing, but so far it works just fine on my devices.

As for switches/dimmers not displaying correctly, I'm on it.

Don't hesitate if you find any other issues!

Yeah I also noticed!
Should only be the case in the French version of the app. However this does not affect the app in any other way. :-)
Will be fixed in 1.2.1

until a few betas back, you could log in as domotixz stood to default login page. As a Beta or two back you should have basic-auth if you selected Pilot: still want to use.
Is there to change something about it?

Pilot handles both "Basic-Auth" and "Login page" authentication methods.
The new 1.2.1 version also brings "Local Networks (no username/password)" support.

Is it not working anymore since you updated your Domoticz installation? If so, what version are you using?

[UPDATE]
Indeed, I also updated to v1.2014 and I can't connect either using the "login page" authentication method...
Apparently, people using the android app Dromotica have the same issue...
All I can recommend is using the stable version of Domoticz, I can't guarantee full support with the beta release of Domoticz, as it can break stuff anytime. :/

Did you have a look at the new iOS homekit-features? Are there cool new features you could add using this new functionality?

I did take a look at it, and it is very interesting as it leverages all of iPhone capabilities: better device authentication, Siri control, etc.

As far as I can tell, I could add support for homekit devices, the same way I can connect today to domoticz.

Basically, domoticz and homekit are two different platforms. I do have in my roadmap to add support for homekit, but I think it's a bit soon to consider it.

Hmm, I'm still looking for a neat way to use Siri to control my lights through Domoticz/Pilot. I don't like the 'Googleplex' solution, so i'm continious looking for better solutions. :-D

From a Domoticz point of view, it is not that simple.
Domoticz could act as a bridge between HomeKit and your home automation devices. To do that, the Domoticz team needs to register in the Apple MFI program, which costs some (a lot of) money. You should ask the team about it, but I don't think it's in their plans to do that. Again, it costs a lot of money.

Leaving Domoticz aside, you could just get home automation devices that work directly with HomeKit (Philips Hue for example). But that involves setting up a whole new home automation system.
Here is an interesting alternative: http://www.homekitbridge.com/
HomeKit Bridge acts as a bridge that can connect to all your devices AND HomeKit. It doesn't support Z-Wave, but I think it's only a matter of time before it does.

I am also looking for a Siri implementation, it will be so cool when I can control my house using Siri! :D
What will be added in the short term is an iOS 8 widget, that way you can add a shortcut to your Pilot commands.

Pilot: Home Automation Control (iOS app)

Post by simon_rb »

Hey there,
This app is everything im looking for. I use demopad to control my home and just needed a home and away location service which your app provides. Does it use geo fencing for location services?
Regards
Simon

Edit :- I have just bought this app and tried the location services. When I select it just spins and can't locate me. I loaded up Google maps and that found me straight away. I also set always under location services.. Any ideas? I am on iOS 8 on an iPhone 6...

The "Locate me" button doesn't work on iOS 8. I just discovered it and I am already working on a fix to deliver ASAP.

In the meanwhile, what you have to do is setup your home location yourself, like in the screenshot below:

Please let me know if it works, and congratz on getting an iPhone 6 ;) also looking forward to getting mine...
