Downgrade on Ubuntu linux

Post by georgep »

Hi all.

For a long time now I've had an established install of Domoticz version 3.8153 on a Lubuntu 16.04 system which runs lots of other stuff.

I just ran an upgrade to the current release (4.9701) and have come across the "Python: Failed dynamic library load, install the latest libpython3.x library" issue. My system seems to be running OK but the "Switches" and "Utility" screens are empty :-(

My system tells me I already have libpython3.5...

Code: Select all

libpython3.5 is already the newest version (3.5.2-2ubuntu0~16.04.4).
and isn't happy with me installing libpython-3.5-dev...

Code: Select all

The following packages have unmet dependencies.
 libpython3.5-dev : Depends: libpython3.5-stdlib (= 3.5.1-10) but 3.5.2-2ubuntu0~16.04.4 is to be installed
Depends: libpython3.5 (= 3.5.1-10) but 3.5.2-2ubuntu0~16.04.4 is to be installed
E: Unable to correct problems, you have held broken packages
.

With other important systems already running on the box the simple way out of this of course is just to revert to my original version - but I didn't keep a copy of the domoticz binary :-o

I was expecting to be able to download my original version and re-install it, but I can't locate any archive of old versions.

Can anyone point me to an archive of old releases?
Thanks!
George

OK - problem resolved - I restored the whole domoticz directory from a squashfs filesystem backup and then applied a data restore from a backup made earlier today :-D

It would still be interesting though to know if earlier releases are available to download from anywhere :-)
