Getting started
Trying to set up Demoticz on an iPhone and iPad so that I can control my evohome heating system . I’ve looked at a lot of stuff online on how to do this but I can’t match it up with what I’m seeing. First screen asks for server settings: is this for the Demoticz server or the evohome server or my own server that I’d need to set up? If it’s the Demoticz server then can I use the demo account? When I select the demo account I don’t get a menu so I don’t see any way to add hardware. Any ideas?

Re: Getting started
I do not understand your question...
- Is evohome working without domoticz?
- Do you have domoticz installed? On which platform?
- Is evohome working within domoticz?
- What demo account do you want to use?
- Is the domoticz web-page accessible from your ipad?
- Are you building a dashticz front-end?
Synology NAS, slave PI3, ZWave (Fibaro), Xiaomi zigbee devices, BTLE plant sensor, DzVents, Dashticz on tablet, Logitech Media Server

Re: Getting started
To explain:
* I have evohome working to control my heating but I want more control than the evohome controller or app give me
* I have installed the Demoticz Home Automation app on my iPhone and iPad but when I first run it I get an option to "Use our Demo setup" or enter Server settings(address, protocol, port, directory, username & password). At this point I don't know what to do. Am I supposed to run up my own server on a Raspberry Pi or similar? I was expecting that the app would enable me to communicate with evohome without the need for any other devices.
Looking further (thingsthataresmart.wiki) it looks like the app is only there to talk to a Domoticz server on my local network, but rereading the description in the AppStore there is no indication that it needs a server: "the app automates every appliance at your home".
I guess there was an implicit assumption that everyone knew that this all went via a Domoticz server?
