One device - 2 dimmers

Post by krizzz »

Hi,

Already for some time i am looking for 1 physical zwave device which includes 2 dimmer modules.

I have 2 lighting installations coming together at 1 point in my wall and is now being operated by 2x on/off buttons. There are non zwave devices who can dimm 2x lightsources but I want ofcourse the possibility to dim both sources through Domoticz. Does anybody knows an option?

Guess that it would be hard to fit two Qubino Dimmer relays behind the switch panel, or? Typically at least here in Sweden that would be impossible and if this is the case what you could do is to hide the Qubinos inside the ceiling cover and just ensure that you have the right wires up to the connection point which you can easily pull through the existing cable channel using one of the existing wires and replacing the one you pull through with a new one.

Good one, to bad i choose lighting with a very small base. Not possible to fit also 2x dimmers there.

phase-cut dimmers generate HEAT... that's why it is quite difficult to implement them into a flush mount device that would be installed into a non-cooled box...
that is also why the existing ones are normally limited to 500W (more or less)

Qubino has one DIN-RAIL mounted...

Hey krizzz,

I used the following solution.
Build a fibaro dimmer 2 with a double switch in the wall.
Connected both switch cables, then build another dimmer 2 INTO the second lamp, and can control both dimmers from one place.

That did the trick for me, success.
Reliability means never have to say I'm sorry ...
