RooDe - Peoplecounter based on MySensors/MQTT

Post by Lyrex »

Hey guys,

i want to present the Domoticz community my Peoplecounter named RooDe! I opened an thread at the MySensors Forum: https://forum.mysensors.org/topic/9937/ ... plecounter
GitHub: https://github.com/Lyr3x/Roode

What is RooDe?
Its a cost effective reliable people counter for your DIY smart home using the MySensors Framework or MQTT. You can use Roodes in your doorways to count entering and leaving people (1 people at a time!). I am developing this system for about 2 years now and i'm using it daily. I tested a lot of different methods to count people or to find out if somebody is inside a room. No method worked reliable to automate things based on the information.
For me RooDe is the best working solution which is damn reliable for me.
Roode will set a On/Off state for the Room its controlling and also saves the number of people inside.

Key Features:
- Environment calibration
- threshold, temperature and light
- Supports doorways for up to 4m (with the new VL53L1X sensors we can define two ROI's for each sensor to count 2 people simultaneously - coming soon)
- Configurable Features
- Motion Sensor
- OLED display
- Sensor type
- Energy Saving mode
- More to come
- Recalibration and manual counter setting via Domoticz
- 3D printed Enclosure

Check out the MySensors thread for more information or checkout the GitHub Repository.

I hope i'll get some feedback from you guys and maybe someone will build a RooDe!
