Rain Gauge Setup

Post by Dave21w »

Does anyone have experience with this that could give me a pointer, I purchased this from Amazon

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Wireless-Profe ... ef=sr_1_14

I found out that it is detected as Alecto hardware which comes under Rubicson on the device page settings for RFXCOM however even though the hardware doesn't support humidity it is showing a value which by the way is way off. The reported temp is within 0.5c of another external device I have so I'm happy with that, however I am unsure how to add the rain sensor part, should this be detected or do i need a virtual sensor and then some script to make it work, either way I am concerned the humidity level being detected by the RFXCOM / Domoticz is actually the rain level (pure a guess on my part).

TIA

OK, small update, I poured a load of water through my rain guage yesterday to try and prove a point, I was right in that the humidity % being shown in domoticz is actually the rain level output as this went up the instant I poured the water in however I still don't know how to remove the value being shown as humidity and also how to reset it on a daily basis, any help would be greatly appreciated.

TIA

Dave
